Delleman (Oculocerebrocutaneous) Syndrome: Case report

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2014
Delleman syndrome is an unusual entity, characterized by ocular cysts or microphthalmia, focal dermal anomalies and cerebral malformations. In the following article, we carry out a review of the disease and we present the case of a patient with ...

Hydrophobic Composites Designed by a Nonwoven Cellulose-Based Material and Polymer/CaCO3 Patterns with Biomedical Applications

open access: yes, 2021
Herein, we report a simple method to obtain hydrophobic surfaces by surface modification with calcium carbonate via diffusion-controlled crystallization using a cheap, versatile, and super-hydrophilic cellulose-based nonwoven material (NWM) as the ...

Smart Bioinks for 4D Bioprinting: Requirements, Design, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Smart bioinks empower 4D‐bioprinted constructs to dynamically adapt and remodel in response to stimuli, effectively biomimicking native tissues. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) play a guiding role in their rational design by optimizing relevant properties.

Self‐Healing Ionogel Dual‐Network Enables Synergistic Defect Passivation and Strain Relief for High‐Efficiency Robust Perovskite Photovoltaics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PSCs are afflicted by inherent defects and lattice strain that limit PCE and stability. A cross‐linked multifunctional ionogel [HA‐AA][EMIES] is developed to modulate crystallization, relieve residual strain, and passivate defects, extending carrier diffusion length to over 8 µm and delivering PCEs of 26.45% for rigid devices and 25.14% for flexible ...

Self‐Responsive Plastron Maintenance on a Superhydrophobic Mesh via Locally Integrated Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a self‐switchable SHM‐E surface that enables rapid, autonomous plastron self‐repair and long‐term stability. Plastron loss triggers circuit closure and localized electrolysis, while capillary spreading rapidly restores a continuous plastron and self‐terminates the current.

A Biomimetic Solvatochromic Chip With Optimized Chemical Diversity for On‐Site Liquid Identification

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A compact biomimetic photonic‐gustatory chip uses Hansen‐solubility‐parameter‐guided solvatochromic disks to create distinct color patterns in organic liquids. An optimized four‐disk array distinguishes solvent types, ratios, homologues, isomers, and alcoholic beverages. Coupled with smartphone imaging and deep learning, it identifies 80 liquid classes

Optical Quality Degradation Following Nd:YAG Laser-Induced Intraocular Lens Pitting: A Multimodal Experimental Study

open access: yesVision
Nd laser posterior capsulotomy is the standard treatment for posterior capsule opacification following cataract surgery. Although generally considered safe, inadvertent laser impacts on the intraocular lens (IOL) optic may induce permanent surface ...
