Identification of Variants in Two Families With Congenital Cataract by Whole Exome Sequencing

open access: yesMolecular Genetics &Genomic Medicine, Volume 14, Issue 10, October 2026.
We describe likely pathogenic missense variants causing congenital cataract and investigate these variants using high‐throughput gene sequencing, Sanger sequencing, bioinformatics, and computational biology tools. Our findings provide novel insights into the molecular diagnosis of congenital cataract and have important implications for genetic ...

Nonthermal plasma approaches for combating implant‐associated infections: A compendious review

open access: yesVIEW, Volume 7, Issue 5, October 2026.
Implant‐associated infections pose serious clinical challenges. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) modifications overcome this bottleneck in distinct ways relative to traditional sterilization methods. Gas‐phase plasmas generate highly energetic species, UV radiation and reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS), which alter the implant surface properties.

Cascade‐targeted intervention of the NLRP3 inflammasome and downstream angiogenesis by curcumin nanoparticles for ocular neovascularization therapy

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 9, September 2026.
Ultrasound‐microreactor synthesizes monodisperse 125 nm Cur‐NPs with enhanced solubility. Cur‐NPs suppress VEGF signaling and retinal neovascularization via the NLRP3 axis. Multi‐omics profiling reveals that Cur‐NPs reprogram retinal microglia and metabolic pathways.

Supercritical Solution Impregnation: A Strategy to Prevent Prosthetic Infections

open access: yesGlobal Challenges, Volume 10, Issue 9, September 2026.
Infections following hip or knee replacement surgery are painful, difficult to treat, and often require additional operations. This study presents a sustainable carbon dioxide‐based method for loading antibiotics into prosthetic materials. These medicated prostheses prevent bacterial growth without altering implant properties, potentially reducing ...

Modular Control of PEG‐Poly(2‐Oxazoline) Co‐Assembly Enables Tunable Aggregate Properties for Intraocular Pressure Management

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 15, Issue 30, 14 August 2026.
A thermo‐responsive poly(2‐oxazoline)‐based injectable formulation is developed to modulate intraocular pressure (IOP) in both normal and hypotonic eyes. By adjusting the PEG content, the aggregation behavior is finely tuned, enabling IOP elevation without long‐term deposition.
