Rheological Characterization of Hydrophylic Gels

Journal of Dispersion Science and Technology, 2010
Rheological characteristics of gels were studied, with the focus on their use as a cosmetic base. Some ideal characteristics can be predicted by the rheological characterization, such as the performance, with easy application and without dripping or forming lumps and bubbles. Moreover, it is possible to detect signs of physical instability.

Reduction in spasm with a long hydrophylic transradial sheath

Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, 2010
AbstractObjectives: We aimed to assess the efficiency of a long hydrophilic sheath in reducing radial spasm for transradial approach. Background: Despite a lower access site complication rate, cardiac catheterization using transradial approach is not widely used.

Colloid stability of hydrophylic latexes

2007
Results of coagulation experiments on negatively charged polystyrene latexes are reported. The different latex dispersions were stabilized by electrostatic, electrosteric and steric mechanisms. For the electrostatic and electrosteric stabilized dispersion the effectiveness of monovalent cations as coagulants increases according to the lyotropic ...

Standardisation of hydrophylic polymers on growth and yield of tomato

Madras Agricultural Journal, 2001
An experiment was conducted at Horticultural College & Research Institute, Tamil. Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore to standardise the hydrophylic polymers on growth and yield of tomato. Three commercially available polymers viz. TerraCotten (TerraCottem International. Belgium). Polyvinyl alcohol (Aquatrols corp.

Superior cytotoxicity of hydrophylic gold carboxylato complexes over hydrophylic silver carboxylates.

Anticancer research, 2012
The water-soluble ionic gold(I) complex [Au(PPh(2)CH(2)CH(2)PPh(2))(2)]Cl possesses at least ten times stronger antineoplastic activity than the water-soluble neutral silver(I) carboxylates [AgO(2)C(CH(2)OCH(2))(n)H], 1, (n=1), 2 (n=2), or 3 (n=3) even though Au(I) and Ag(I) are isoelectronic d(10) metals lying one above the other in the periodic table

Cytotoxicity of hydrophylic silver carboxylato complexes.

Anticancer research, 2012
Gold(I) and platinum(II) d(10) and d(8) electronic complexes such as (Au(PPh(2)CH(2)CH(2)PPh(2))(2))Cl and cisplatin, ((H(3)N)(2)PtCl(2)), possess strong antineoplastic activities. Almost no information is available regarding the anticancer activity of isoelectronic silver(I) d(10) complexes. This study examined the cytotoxicity of stable water-soluble

Impedance studies of the adsorption of hydrophobic and hydrophylic species on mineral pulps

Analytica Chimica Acta, 1995
Abstract Physical adsorption of dodecylamine on galena (PbS) and on fluorite (CaF 2 ) does not change the dielectric permittivity of pulps at 10 MHz while a chemical adsorption of xanthate on PbS and of oleate on CaF 2 leads to significant variations.

A tooth with internal resorption treated with a hydrophylic plastic material: a case report

Journal of Endodontics, 1981
A case is described in which a tooth with internal resorption was treated with a hydrophylic plastic filling material. The tooth remains asymptomatic with a reduction in the size of the periapical radiolucent area 15 months after treatment.

Selective Determination of Chlorobenzoic Acids Using Extraction with Hydrophylic Solvents

Journal of Analytical Chemistry, 2004
The extraction of 4-chlorobenzoic and 2,4-dichlorobenzoic acids with hydrophilic solvents (butyl alcohols, acetone, and ethyl acetate) from aqueous solutions was studied. Extraction conditions were optimized using mathematical methods of experimental design.

Autoaggregation, hydrophobic, and hydrophylic properties of Moraxella catarrhalis strains.

Acta microbiologica Polonica, 2003
The hydrophobicity of the bacterial cell surface was evaluated via the salt aggregation test (SAT) in 58 strains (19 from the lower and 39 from the upper respiratory tracts) of Moraxella catarrhalis in hospitalized patients aged 25 to 65. Based on the SAT results, the strains were divided into three groups: autoaggregating (highly hydrophobic ...
