Effect of hydropriming and acclimation treatments on Quercus rugosa acorns and seedlings

European Journal of Forest Research, 2011
To facilitate restoration of the lava field forests surrounding Mexico City, we developed methods to improve the germination and field seedling performance of Quercus rugosa using hydropriming (regulated hydration of seeds in water), and we used special watering regimes to improve seedling acclimation.

Improving the seedling vigor and seedling performance of glutinous corn by hydropriming

Ecology, Environment and Conservation
A study on hydropriming with different durations (4, 8, and 12 h) tested the seedling vigor of glutinous corn. Ambient conditions (temperature: 30 ± 2 ˆC; relative humidity - 65 ± 5%) were used as the growing conditions for the hydro primed and unprimed seeds (control).

ANTI-OXIDATIVE ENZYMES AND VIGOR OF MAIZE SEEDS INDUCED BY HYDROPRIMING

Acta Horticulturae, 2013
'PC' maize seeds subjected to either hydropriming or artificial accelerated aging were investigated. The relationship between germination and lipid peroxidation (indicated by malondialdehyde (MDA) content was monitored. The changes in germination, anti-oxidative enzyme activities, and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) during hydropriming for 6-30 h were ...

Seed Hydropriming Enhances Osmotic Stress Tolerance Potential in Vigna radiata

Agricultural Research, 2018
Green gram (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek) is a widely cultivated pulse crop in India, and it holds a key importance in food supplement due to its protein-rich edible seeds. This crop usually experiences abiotic stresses like drought and salinity during the cultivation period.

Physiological performance of vegetable seeds at different times of hydropriming

2019
A produção de sementes de alta qualidade fisiológica é um dos principais desafios para os produtores de sementes. Na busca de condicionadores de menor custo surge a possibilidade do uso de hidrocondicionamento, o qual consiste na hidratação controlada das sementes.

Effect of hydropriming on morphological and physiological performance of aged groundnut (Arachis hypogea L.) seeds

2017
Low viability and poor vigour due to seed deterioration are major problems for successful agricultural production. In this experiment, the ability of hydropriming to ameliorate seed deterioration damage was studied in groundnut. Groundnut seeds were subjected to accelerated ageing for 96 hours at 40 °C and then hydroprimed at 25 °C for 6, 12 and 18 ...
