Contractile Hydrostatically Coupled Dielectric Elastomer Actuators

IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics, 2012
The so-called hydrostatically coupled dielectric elastomer actuators (HC-DEAs) have recently been described as a means to improve versatility and safety of electroactive polymer actuators made of DEs. HC-DEAs use an incompressible fluid that mechanically couples a DE-based active part to a passive part interfaced to the load.

Micro-Precision Hydrostatic Actuation System

Fluid Power Systems and Technology, 2005
This paper reports on an important discovery that is: hydrostatic actuation systems are able to manipulate heavy loads with sub-micron precision and large stroke. In this relation, the design of a high-precision hydrostatic actuation system referred to as the ElectroHydraulic Actuator (EHA) is presented.

MODELLING AND CONTROL OF AN ELECTRO‐HYDROSTATIC ACTUATOR

International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, 1997
The control of a novel aerospace actuator is considered, viz., an electro-hydrostatic actuator. It offers a high degree of maintainability and combat survivability of the aircraft's flight control system because all the actuator's elements are collocated.

Computational Model of Hydrostatically Coupled Dielectric Elastomer Actuators

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 2012
A hydrostatically coupled dielectric elastomer (HCDE) actuator consists of two membranes of a dielectric elastomer, clamped with rigid circular rings. Confined between the membranes is a fixed volume of a fluid, which couples the movements of the two membranes when a voltage or a force is applied.

Comparison of Controllers and Actuators Effect on Electro Hydrostatic Actuator

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2019
Hydraulic actuators play a major role in aircraft flight actuation and control. Primary control systems in an aircraft typically control the components that guide an airplane during flight. Electro Hydrostatic Actuators (EHA) is emerging as a viable option for aerospace as well as industrial machine builders. It is an emerging technology which replaces

Backdrivability analysis of Electro-Hydrostatic Actuator and series dissipative actuation model

2010 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2010
Although backdrivability is recognized as an important property of actuators, this term is often used without clear definition. In order to design mechanisms with advanced controllability, it is important to understand the fundamental mechanism of backdrivability.
