Fluid Compressibility Effects on the Dynamic Response of Hydrostatic Journal Bearings [PDF]
A theoretical analysis for the dynamic performance characteristics of laminar flow, capillar/orifice compensated hydrostatic journal bearings is presented. The analysis considers in detail the effect of fluid compressibility in the bearing recesses.

ABSTRACT Drilling fluids used in high‐performance well operations often struggle to maintain rheological stability, colloidal dispersion, and filtration control under harsh downhole conditions. This study engineered a multifunctional Fe3O4@Saponin/Cu(II) nanocomposite to address these challenges.

A Short‐Cut Design Approach to Evaluate Reboiler Designs in Vapor Recompression Scenarios
A short‐cut model framework that incorporates mechanical vapor recompression (MVR) requirements into reboiler design is presented, which is particularly beneficial during early process development with limited data or initial feasibility assessments.

Dynamics of bubble absorption over porous membranes in an immersed medium
The dynamics of a bubble interacting with a flat, porous superhydrophobic membrane underwater has been illustrated. Abstract Porous superhydrophobic (SHP) membranes are gaining considerable attention due to their excellent underwater absorption and drag reduction properties. They exploit the Cassie‒Baxter state of wetting to remove the bubble in a fast

This study highlights that with the static and time‐dependent evolution of slip versus dilation tendency parameter space, structurally controlled deep geothermal systems can be selected within areas of higher permeability and lower seismic hazard. Abstract Faults play a vital role in the Earth's hydraulic system by facilitating fluid flow when dilating

Overview of the 1985 NASA Lewis Research Center SP-100 free-piston Stirling engine activities [PDF]
This effort is keyed on the design, fabrication, assembly, and testing of a 25 kWe Stirling space-power technology-feasibility demonstrator engine. Another facet of the SP-100 project covers the status of a 9000-hr endurance test conducted on a 2 kWe ...
