Thermoelastohydrodynamic Behavior of Hydrostatic Thrust Bearings
The thermoelastic behavior of hydrostatic thrust bearings is analyzed numerically. Mineral oils, HWCF, seawater, and tap water are studied as working fluids. The physical properties of these fluids are expressed as a function of temperature and pressure. The heat transfer and thermoelastic distortion of the bearings are considered.

Inertia and Couple-Stress Effects in a Curvilinear Thrust Hydrostatic Bearing
The flow of a couple-stress lubricant in a clearance of a curvilinear thrust hydrostatic bearing with impermeable walls is considered. The flow in the bearing clearance is considered with inertia forces.

Theoretical Study of Hydrostatic Thrust Bearings
The load capacity of hydrostatic bearings can be increased by making a pocket which keeps effective fluid pressure on the bearing surface, and their dynamic stability can be improved by arranging a suitable restrictor like a capillary or an orifice which corresponds to the bearing dimensions and the optimum clearance in the fluid supply-line.

UNIVERSAL STAND FOR STUDYING SEALING AND BEARING UNITS OF COMPRESSOR MACHINES [PDF]
The proposed stand is designed to test sealing and bearing units of various types, because these units, regardless of their type, require almost the same auxiliary stand systems, as well as practically the same measurement system.

The Structural Optimum of Hydrostatic Thrust Bearings to Avoid Cavitation
Cavitation of oil film is harmful for all kinds of hydrostatic bearings, so the method to avoid cavitation in hydrostatic thrust bearings by optimizing the structure of bearings is proposed in this study. Based on the pressure distribution expressions of

Turbulent lubrication for hydrostatic thrust bearing with a circular recess.
This paper is concerned with the characteristics of hydrostatic thrust bearings operating in the turbulent regime. Using the calculated results of the three-dimensional turbulent mean velocity between a rotating disk and a fixed wall as already proposed, the pressure distribution, the load capacity and the oil flow rate of the hydrostatic thrust ...

Thrust bearing with a hydrostatic floating disk.
This paper is concerned with the reduction of the power loss of the thrust bearing. A thrust bearing with a disk floated by externally pressurized oil is proposed, and the static characteristics of the thrust bearing are investigated by experiments and simplified analysis in the laminar regime.
