Hydrothermal Liquefaction of Biomass

2014
Biomass is one of the most abundant sources of renewable energy, and will be an important part of a more sustainable future energy system. In addition to direct combustion, there is growing attention on conversion of biomass into liquid en-ergy carriers.

Hydrothermal processes on Enceladus

Science, 2017
Planetary Geology Saturn's moon Enceladus has a subsurface ocean covered by a layer of ice. Some liquid escapes into space through cracks in the ice, which is the source of one of Saturn's rings. In October 2015, the Cassini spacecraft flew directly through the plume of escaping material and sampled its chemical composition. Waite et al. found that the

The Hydrothermal Minerals

2020
Over 2200 chemical analyses of hydrothermal minerals collected at depth in different active geothermal systems were compiled and processed in this work. In agreement with the outcomes of previous studies, it turned out that hydrothermal quartz, calcite, adularia, albite, anorthite, and laumontite are virtually pure solid phases.

Hydrothermal Synthesis

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1953
The underlying theory of hydrothermal synthesis is presented and the apparatus used is described. By way of illustration the determination of the solubility of quartz in superheated steam at high pressures and the determination of the compositions of coexisting gas and liquid phases in the system H 2
