The Application of Hydrochar Composite Briquettes for Sustainable Slag Foaming in the Electric Arc Furnace Process

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Hydrochar‐mill‐scale briquettes with varying C/O molar ratios (0.07–0.90) have been tested at 1650 °C to evaluate their slag foaming performance for electric arc furnace application. All seven briquette recipes developed succeed in promoting slag foaming.

Hydrothermal carbonization of waste biomass

open access: yes, 2016
Hydrothermal carbonization (in acronym, HTC) is a thermochemical conversion process through which it is possible to directly transform wet organic substrates into a carbonaceous material, referred as hydrochar. Hydrochar has chemical and physical characteristics that make it similar to fossil peats and lignite.

Phosphorylation of Milkweed Fibers With a Phosphate Ester: Effect on Fiber Properties and Optimization of Reaction Conditions

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 40, October 20, 2026.
The phosphorylation of milkweed fibers using the phosphate ester/urea system was optimized. The impact of reaction temperature, duration, and phosphate ester ratio on the efficiency of phosphorylation was investigated using the design of experiments approach.

Magnetic‐Field‐Enabled Ultrafast Quench Synthesis of Single‐Atom Catalysts for Efficient Anion Exchange Membrane Water Electrolysis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 37, 7 September 2026.
We report a universal magnetic‐field‐enabled quench strategy for the ultrafast synthesis of diverse single‐atom catalysts within seconds. This simple and low‐cost method yields highly active catalysts with excellent performance in anion exchange membrane water electrolysis. ABSTRACT Single‐atom catalysts (SACs) play a critical role in diverse catalytic
