Hydrothermal Circulation Inspired Optimization Algorithm for Complex Problems

open access: yes
This paper proposes a heuristic optimization algorithm based on the mechanism of submarine hydrothermal circulation. The submarine hydrothermal circulation has the characteristics of infiltration, upwelling, chemical precipitation/dissolution, and fluid diffusion, which provides a natural inspiration for algorithm design.

The Influence of the Hydrothermal Aging Temperature on CoCuAl Layered Double Hydroxide‐Derived Mixed Oxides for CO2 Purification of Industrial Flue Gas

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
Hydrothermal aging temperature (40°C–110°C) influenced the structural evolution of CoCuAl layered double hydroxides and the physicochemical properties of derived mixed oxides. Optimized conditions exhibited higher carbonate content and surface area, promoting NO reduction by CO under CO2‐rich flue‐gas conditions.

Integrating Remote Sensing and Machine Learning to Project Global Habitat Suitability and Productivity of Chinese Fir Under Climate Change

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
We integrated ecological niche modeling (MaxEnt) with a remote sensing–driven machine‐learning productivity model (BRT), using 3139 Chinese fir occurrences, MODIS‐derived NPP, and 37 climate–soil predictors to project future suitability and productivity under a 13‐GCM CMIP6 ensemble (SSP245/SSP585).

Evaluating the sustainability of mineral water consumption using multi‐scale hydrogeophysics in Caxambu, Brazil

open access: yesNear Surface Geophysics, Volume 24, Issue 3, Page 234-251, June 2026.
Abstract A better understanding of the near‐surface aquifer system of the Caxambu Water Park, located in the Minas Gerais State, Brazil, has been achieved. The study aimed to identify groundwater reservoirs and flow patterns and contribute to the hydrogeological conceptual model using a multi‐scale geophysical approach.

Harnessing Trace Elements: Novel Radiosensitization Strategies for Enhanced Cancer Radiotherapy

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Radiotherapy (RT) is one of the core methods of comprehensive cancer treatment. Globally, more than 40% of cancer patients rely on radiotherapy to achieve tumor control, cure or palliative relief. However, radiation resistance, immunosuppression and normal tissue injury limit its clinical application.
