Effect of Hydrothermal Pretreatment on Convective Drying Characteristics of Paper Sludge
ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering, 2014This work concerns the influence of hydrothermal (HT) pretreatment on sludge drying performance. Sludge was dried in an air duct dryer at a temperature of 30.4 ± 0.4 °C with a constant air velocity of 1.34 ± 0.04 m/s and a relative humidity of about 56%.

Feedbacks between mantle hydration and hydrothermal convection at ocean spreading centers
Earth and Planetary Science Letters, 2010Hydration of the oceanic lithosphere is an important and ubiquitous process which alters both the chemical and physical properties of the affected lithologies. One of the most important reactions that affect the mantle is serpentinization. The process of serpentinization results in a drastic decrease in the density (up to 40%), seismic velocity and ...

Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, 1995
A mathematical formalism is developed to compute the aqueous species transport coupled to reactions forming crystalline solutions during hydrothermal circulation. The formalism takes into account that, during convection in a fracture network at temperatures from 0°C to 200°C, dissolution/precipitation reactions between the fluids and crystalline ...

Salinity Variations in Submarine Hydrothermal Systems by Layered Double-Diffusive Convection
The Journal of Geology, 1989Various mechanisms have been proposed to explain the salinity variations in vent fluids of seafloor geothermal systems. New experiments reacting diabase and evolved seawater were carried out to reproduce earlier published observations of Cl depletions attributed to formation of an ephemeral Cl-bearing mineral.

Hydrothermal Convection Systems and Geothermal Energy in the Southwest China
2017This chapter is the assessment of geothermal resources (high and intermediate temperature) of the Qingzang Plateau and its surroundings. Based on the average of SiO2, Na–K, Na–K–Ca and K–Mg geothermometers, 107 high-temperature hydrothermal convective systems have been determined and then their installed capacity has been estimated.
