Fractional distillation of hydrothermal liquefaction Biocrude [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
This thesis describes fractional distillation as an upgrading method for improving the quality of hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) biocrude as a green-based biofuel. Firstly, as a part of the biomass to fuel pathway, aqueous phase recycling in the HTL process increased the yield of biocrude production and reduced the nitrogen content.

Rational design of Ni‐based catalysts for methane dry reforming: Recent advances and future perspectives

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
Addressing the challenges inherent in dry reforming of methane (DRM), this paper focuses on the structural design and performance optimization of Ni‐based catalysts. The modulation strategies for DRM are systematically reviewed across four dimensions: the micromorphology of active metals, metal‐support interactions, electronic modifications by ...

Fast Hydrothermal Liquefaction of Native and Torrefied Wood

open access: yesEnergy Procedia, 2017
Abstract The work presented in this paper aimed to examine the effect of heating rate on the bio-crude yield of wood hydrothermal liquefaction. Three different heating methods were developed, resulting in heating rates ranging from 66 °C/min to 179 °C/min.

Co-hydrothermal Liquefaction of Lignocellulosic Biomass with Kukersite Oil Shale

open access: yes, 2019
The co-hydrothermal liquefaction of black pine wood (BPW) with Kukersite oil shale (KOS) at different blend ratios of BPW/KOS (1:1, 1:2, and 2:1) was conducted at 300 °C for 30 min. No synergistic effects on oil yields from the co-hydrothermal processing

The Evaluation of Properties of Chars Produced from Wastes of Different Origins [PDF]

open access: yesNature Environment and Pollution Technology
This paper presents a screening of primary char samples produced through the hydrothermal liquefaction of biomass. Currently, numerous studies demonstrate the potential of hydrothermal conversion char residues as sorbents. The relevance of this work lies

Role of Fiber Sizing in Interfacial Relaxation, Water Uptake and Fatigue Properties of Acrylic‐Matrix Composites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Characterisation of glass fibre reinforced acrylic with acrylic‐tailored or multi‐compatible sizing agents. ABSTRACT Fiber‐reinforced infusible acrylic monomer resins are of interest as recyclable alternatives to epoxy and other thermoset resin composites, but the novelty of these resins causes published studies on acrylic‐matrix composites to often ...
