A deeply branching thermophilic bacterium with an ancient acetyl-CoA pathway dominates a subsurface ecosystem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A nearly complete genome sequence of Candidatus ‘Acetothermum autotrophicum’, a presently uncultivated bacterium in candidate division OP1, was revealed by metagenomic analysis of a subsurface thermophilic microbial mat community.

Preparation of Char-Fe3O4 Composites from Polyvinyl Chloride with Hydrothermal and Hydrothermal-Pyrolysis Carbonization Methods as Co(II) Adsorbents

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Chemistry, 2019
Char-Fe3O4 Composites have been synthetized through hydrothermal carbonization method and through hydrothermal-pyrolysis carbonization method by using polyvinylchloride as a carbon source. The products were characterized by FTIR, XRD, EDX, and TEM.

Bimetallic (NiFe) and Trimetallic (NiFeCr) Nanoalloys from Metal Oxides Using a Microwave Hydrogen Plasma

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Bimetallic (NiFe) and trimetallic (NiFeCr) nanoalloys (NAs) are synthesized using corresponding oxide mixtures using microwave hydrogen plasma within a few milliseconds. The process simultaneously 1) reduces metal oxides to metals; 2) downsizes the particles from micrometers to nanometers; and 3) blends the metals to form NAs.

Preparation of ZnS nanoparticles by hydrothermal method [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2009
ZnS nanoparticles were fabricated by hydrothermal method without using any capping agent. The hydrothermal temperature was 220°C. The product was received in powder form. The structure, composition and optical property of the resultant product were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), UV-visible ...
