Effect of catalysts acidity on residues hydrotreatment

Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, 2011
The impact of hydrotreatment catalysts acid properties in residues hydrotreatment activities (hydrodemetallization (HDM), hydrodesulfurization (HDS), hydrodeasphaltenization (HDAsC7), hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) and Conradson carbon conversion (HDCCR)) was evaluated. NiMoP based catalysts carried on multimodal/bimodal alumina were used.

Catalytic hydrotreatment of some technical lignins [PDF]

open access: yesBioresource Technology, 1993
Five kraft lignins from softwood and hardwood and one softwood lignin from the organocell process were converted into an oil-like product by hydrotreatment at 400°C for 40 minutes in the presence of different catalysts. The total oil yields varied in the range 49-71% wt of the original lignin feedstock.

Stabilization of fast pyrolysis liquids from biomass by catalytic hydrotreatment using Raney nickel “type” catalysts [PDF]

open access: yesFuel Processing Technology, 2021
The catalytic hydrotreatment of fast pyrolysis liquids (PL) from lignocellulosic biomass is a promising technology to improve the properties of PL. Mild hydrotreatment (< 250 °C) using a suitable catalyst allows the production of stabilized oils that ...

Catalyst studies on the hydrotreatment of fast pyrolysis oil [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Catalysis B: Environmental, 2010
Catalytic hydrotreatment is considered an attractive technology for fast pyrolysis oil upgrading to liquid transportation fuels. We here report an experimental study to gain insights in catalyst stability when using Ru/C catalysts for the hydrotreatment ...

Bauxites as hydrotreatment catalysts

Reaction Kinetics & Catalysis Letters, 1991
The effects of calcination temperature on structural and textural characteristics of two Greek bauxites were examined by different physicochemical techniques. Although the above minerals exhibited lower activity than a commercial CoMo/Al2O3 catalyst, they were evaluated as possible hydrotreating catalysts.

Hydrotreatment of Cracked Light Gas Oil

Catalysis Reviews, 1984
Abstract Since worldwide conversion processes are used to upgrade heavy oil to distillates, the hydrotreatment of light gas oil (LGO) as a downstream process has been used more extensively. This fraction (LGO) is produced from thermal or catalytic cracking or hydrocracking processes.

Effect of hydrotreatment on the photomutagenicity of shale oil

Environmental Research, 1986
Dimethyl sulfoxide extracts of a parent crude and a hydrotreated Paraho shale oil were tested in Salmonella to detect the presence of direct acting mutagens, promutagens, which are converted by liver enzymes to direct acting mutagens, and photomutagens, which photosensitize Salmonella to mutation by fluorescent light.

Hydrotreatment of pyrolysis oils from biomass: reactivity of the various categories of oxygenated compounds and preliminary techno-economical study [PDF]

open access: yesCatalysis Today, 1996
This paper describes essential aspects of the hydrotreatment of pyrolytic oils in the light of results obtained until now at the Universite Catholique de Louvain. Stability of pyrolysis oils necessitates a two-step processing.

Hydrotreatment reactions with a disposable catalyst

Fuel, 1991
Abstract The residue from the West Virginia University coal cleaning process may contain pyrite in significantly higher concentrations than the raw coal. Accordingly, the residue is used as a catalyst for the hydrodesulphurization (HDS) of benzothiophene and the hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) of quinoline. Grinding improves the performance of the residue

A Multivariable Controller for Hydrotreater Severity

1988 American Control Conference, 1988
A multivariable controller has been implemented to control reaction severity of the FCCU feed hydrotreater unit at the Houston, Texas refinery of Lyondell Petrochemical Company (a division of Atlantic Richfield) The controller uses four manipulated variables to control three dependent variables.
