Radionuclide Labeling and Evaluation of Candidate Radioligands for PET Imaging of Histone Deacetylase in the Brain [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Histone deacetylases (HDACs) regulate gene expression by inducing conformational changes in chromatin. Ever since the discovery of a naturally occurring HDAC inhibitor, trichostatin A (TSA) stimulated the recent development of suberoylanilide (SAHA ...

Desferrioxamine biosynthesis : diverse hydroxamate assembly by substrate-tolerant acyl transferase DesC [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Hydroxamate groups play key roles in the biological function of diverse natural products. Important examples include trichostatin A, which inhibits histone deacetylases via coordination of the active site zinc(II) ion with a hydroxamate group, and the ...

Positron Emission Tomography Imaging of Bacterial Infections With an Enterobactin Analog to Monitor Treatment Efficacy With a Catechol Antibiotic

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Synopsis. The [68Ga]GaIII‐TREN‐CAM radiochelate selectively accumulates in Gram‐negative sites of infection and noninvasively monitors treatment response a siderophore antibiotic. ABSTRACT Positron emission tomography (PET) is an emerging tool under clinical investigation for the detection of bacterial infections.

Biostimulant Effects of Seed-Applied Sedaxane Fungicide: Morphological and Physiological Changes in Maize Seedlings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Most crops are routinely protected against seed-born and soil-borne fungal pathogens through seed-applied fungicides. The recently released succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor (SDHI), sedaxane®, is a broad-spectrum fungicide, used particularly to control ...

Boron Neutron Capture Therapy at a Crossroads: Translational Gap and Emerging Delivery Agents

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
This review surveys recent advances in boron delivery agents for BNCT, emphasizing the shift from classical small molecules to multifunctional nanocarriers and theranostic systems. By integrating targeting, imaging, and therapy, next‐generation boron compounds aim to bridge the gap between (bio)chemical innovation and clinical translation.

Chemical Ligation of Backbone N‐hydroxylated Peptides

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Peptide backbone N‐hydroxylation enables sequence‐agnostic fragment ligation via hydroxamate O‐acyl capture and O→N acyl transfer in water. Broad tolerance of sterically demanding nucleophilic residues is observed, and reductive N─O cleavage restores the native amide bond.

trans-Bis(dimethyl sulfoxide-κO)bis(3-nitrobenzohydroxamato-κ2O,O′)zinc(II)

open access: yesIUCrData, 2019
Single crystals of the title complex, [Zn(C7H5N2O4)2(C2H6OS)2] or [Zn(NBZH)2(DMSO)2], were isolated from a dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) solution containing [Zn(NBZH)2]·2H2O (NBZH = 3-nitrobenzohydroxamate anion).

Synthesis of hybrid anticancer agents based on kinase and histone deacetylase inhibitors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Fragments based on the VEGFR2i Semaxanib (SU5416, (vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2 inhibitor) and the HDACi (histone deacetylase inhibitor) SAHA (suberanilohydroxamic acid) have been merged to form a range of low molecular weight dual ...

Isoleucine Hydroxamate, an Isoleucine Antagonist [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1971
Isoleucine hydroxamate (Ile·Hdx) was found to inhibit the growth of Serratia marcescens and to antagonize isoleucine. At a low concentration of Ile·Hdx, at which the growth of the wild strain was completely inhibited, the growth of an isoleucine auxotroph was not inhibited in the medium containing a limiting amount ...
