Trends and Exceptions in the Interaction of Hydroxamic Acid Derivatives of Common Di- and Tripeptides with Some 3d and 4d Metal Ions in Aqueous Solution

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
By using various techniques (pH-potentiometry, UV-Visible spectrophotometry, 1H and 17O-NMR, EPR, ESI-MS), first time in the literature, solution equilibrium study has been performed on complexes of dipeptide and tripeptide hydroxamic acids— ...

A computational study of the interaction of organic surfactants with goethite α-FeO(OH) surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We have studied the adsorption of three organic molecules onto different surfaces of goethite α−FeO(OH) using atomistic simulation techniques. New interatomic potentials for the interaction between goethite and the organic molecules were developed.

Photoinduced Electron Transfer in Ruthenium Bipyridyl Complexes: Evidence for the Existence of a Cage with Molecular Oxygen [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Ruthenium complexes with three bipyridyl ligands, one of which is modified by attaching one or two hydroxamic acids groups (Ru-1 and Ru-2, respectively), were synthesized.

Extract from Maize (Zea mays L.): Antibacterial Activity of DIMBOA and Its Derivatives against Ralstonia solanacearum

open access: yesMolecules, 2016
Many cereals accumulate hydroxamic acids involved in defense of plant against various fungi, bacteria, and insects. 2,4-dihydroxy-7-methoxy-1,4-benzoxazine-3-one, commonly known as DIMBOA, is one of the principal cyclic hydroxamic acids in aqueous ...

Preparation of Aliphatic Hydroxamic Acid from Litsea cubeba Kernel Oil and Its Application to Flotation of Fe(III)-Activated Wolframite

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
Litsea cubeba is a characteristic woody oil resource in Hunan. As a solid waste of woody oil resources, Litsea cubeba kernels are rich in Litsea cubeba kernel oil with a carbon chain length of C10–12 fatty acid.

Pharmacological Effects of Anthranilic Hydroxamic Acid and Certain Other Hydroxamic Acids

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1960
SummaryThe hydroxamate of anthranilic acid injected intraperitoneally into rats in a dose of 1.0 mg/g causes anesthesia lasting 10 hours or more. Recovery is apparently complete. One half this dose causes tranquilization and suppression of the conditioned avoidance response. The compound protects mice against twice the lethal dose of strychnine.

Well diffusion method for evaluation of antibacterial activity of copper phenyl fatty hydroxamate synthesized from canola and palm kernel oils. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Hydroxamic acids and their derivatives have low toxicities and show wide range of biological activities. Copper complexes of phenyl fatty hydroxamic acids (Cu-PFHs) were prepared in a biphasic organic / aqueous medium from phenyl fatty hydroxamic acids (
