Light‐Responsive Enzyme‐Loaded Nanoparticles for Tunable Adhesion and Mechanical Wound Contraction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a photoactivatable enzyme‐loaded mesoporous nanoparticle system (MPDA_PaTy) that enables light‐triggered tunable tissue adhesion and facilitates mechanical wound contraction. Controlled enzymatic crosslinking at tissue or hydrogel interfaces allows on‐demand adhesion.

Native metals, selenides, halogenides and brown ore assotiated minerals from the Amur and Verkhnyaya Arsha deposits (Southern Urals)

open access: yesЛитосфера, 2015
The ores of Amur (Zn) and Verkhnyaya Arsha (Pb-Zn) stratiform sulfide deposits are replaced by brown ores in a supergene conditions. The main types of brown ores are massive aggregates of iron hydroxides, quartz breccias cemented by iron hydroxides and ...

GeAl2‐2xFe2xO3(OH)4 Nanotubes: New Electrocatalyst for Oxygen Evolution Reaction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fe‐doped imogolite nanotubes are synthesized via a one‐step hydrothermal method with varying Fe substitution ratios x. Structural and spectroscopic analyses confirm homogeneous Fe incorporation while preserving tubular shape. Optimal doping at x = 0.05 enhances optical absorption, narrows band gap, reduces charge transfer resistance, and significantly ...

A Termite‐Inspired Alternative to Cement

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A termite‐inspired composite of clay, cellulose, and lignin forms a dense fibrous network with concrete‐like strength (32 MPa) and superior elasticity, processed at ambient temperature. Abstract Clay combined with organic materials is used by termites as a strong and durable construction material for their mounds with minimal environmental impact. Here,

Removal of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic Acid by Calcined Zn–Al–Zr Layered Double Hydroxide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The adsorption equilibrium, kinetics, and thermodynamics of removal of 2,4-dichlorophenoxy-acetic acid (2,4-D) from aqueous solutions by a calcined Zn–Al layered double hydroxide incorporated with Zr4+ were studied with respect to time, temperature, pH ...

Tracking the Dynamic and Interactive Metal Oxidation Changes in CoFe, CoNi, and NiFe Bimetallic Hydroxides for Electrocatalytic Oxygen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Operando hard X‐ray absorption spectroscopy is applied to track the dynamic and interactive metal oxidation changes in iron group bimetallic hydroxides under different chemical and electrochemical conditions. It shows that Co and Fe oxidation are relatively equal and synchronized in CoFeOxHy.

Photo-oxidation of EPDM/layered double hydroxides composites: Influence of layered hydroxides and stabilizers

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2007
The photo-oxidation of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM)/ layered double hydroxide (LDH) composites as well as EPDM/LDH with stabilizers is studied under accelerated UV irradiation (λ≥290 nm) at 60°C for different time intervals.

Tailoring Microstructure in Copper‐Based Conductive Metal–Organic Frameworks for Enhanced Chemiresistive Sensing and Uptake of Sulfur Dioxide

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Precursor‐ and solvent‐mediated synthesis yields four Cu3(HHTP)2 morphologies with distinct physicochemical, sorption, and sensing properties toward SO2. Uptake capacities correlate with BET surface area, while sensing performance scales with particle aspect ratio.

The mineralogy and chemistry of fine-grained sediments, Morphou Bay, Cyprus [PDF]

open access: yesHydrology and Earth System Sciences, 2002
The mineralogy and chemistry of the less than 20μm fraction of marine sediments at Morphou Bay, north-west Cyprus, are presented to characterise fine-grained sediment supplies from basic and ultrabasic rocks of the Troodos Massif within a typological ...
