Summary. Calcium hydroxide is a material which has been used for a variety of purposes since its introduction into dentistry in the early part of the twentieth century. In its pure form, the substance has a high pH, and its dental use relates chiefly to its ability to stimulate mineralization, and also to its antibacterial properties.

Tetramethylammonium hydroxide poisoning
Clinical Toxicology, 2010Tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH) is widely used as a developer or etchant in semiconductor and photoelectric industries. In addition to alkalinity-related chemical burn, dermal exposure to TMAH may also result in respiratory failure and/or sudden death.

Calcium hydroxide and apexogenesis
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1988This case report describes the effect of calcium hydroxide in the treatment of traumatized immature tooth. Calcium hydroxide is used to fill the root canal after complete chemomechanical debridement has been performed. The result demonstrated the successful use of calcium hydroxide in stimulating the epithelial cells of Hertwig's sheath and the ...

Copper(II) hydroxide chloride, Cu(OH)1.5Cl0.5, and copper(II) hydroxide nitrate, Cu(OH)1.5- (NO3)0.5, were precipitated by the stepwise addition of hydroxide to solutions containing Cu2+ at 10-4 or 10-3 M, and Cl - or NO3- at several concentrations between 10-3 and 10-1 M. The nature of the precipitates was confirmed by X-ray diffraction.

The electron distribution of the hydroxide ion in lithium hydroxide
Acta Crystallographica Section A, 1978Analysis of recently published X-ray and neutron diffraction data for LiOH reveals that there are pronounced non-spherical deformations of the electrondensity about the oxygen pseudo-atom. Comparison with a theoretical calculation of the electron density for the isolated hydroxide ion shows that these deformations are due to π-like bonding of the ...
