Functional Alkyl‐Ferrocene Grafted Hydroxyl Terminated Polybutadiene
ChemistrySelect, 2021Abstract Grafting of functional ferrocene molecules in the backbone of hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) without altering physical characteristics such as viscosity, hydroxyl value, molecular weight of the pristine HTPB remains as an important challenge owing to the difficulty in synthesizing appropriate functional ferrocene ...

Characterization of hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene
Polymer Bulletin, 1994Liquiflex is a commercial hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) produced by Brazilian technology. It was characterized with respect to molecular weight, functionallty, microstructure and hydroxyl group types. The results were compared with those obtained for R45M and R45TH Atochem products.

Characterization of hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene
Polymer Bulletin, 1995A comparison between the molecular structure of conventional and low molecular weight hydroxyl terminated polybutadienes (HTPBs) is presented. The conventional HTPB samples were R45M, R45HT (Atochem), Liquiflex P and H (Petroflex, Brazil), and the low molecular weight ones were R20LM (Atochem) and two laboratory synthesized materials.

Dynamic shearing resistance of hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB)
Journal of Applied Physics, 2021Hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) is a widely used polymeric binder in polymer-bonded explosives (PBXs) and solid rocket propellants. Even though used in small fractions, the elastomeric binder absorbs much of the impact energy and therefore requires careful modeling of its mechanical behavior to accurately simulate the response of PBXs when ...

Molecular characterization of hydroxyl‐terminated polybutadienes
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1984AbstractA comparative study has been made on the functionality distribution of two hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene products which are used largely as prepolymers for sealants, adhesives, and solid propellants. They are known to possess nearly the same molecular characteristics.

Laser pyrolysis of hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene
Journal of Propulsion and Power, 1996A method was developed for measuring the dynamic regression rate and plume transmission loss during laser pyrolysis of polymeric binder materials. This method was applied to an investigation of the thermal decomposition of hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene.

Properties of hydroxyl‐terminated polybutadiene‐urethane systems
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1971AbstractThe properties of liquid hydroxyl‐terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) stocks crosslinked with isocyanates of different functionalities were intensively investigated. The stocks were modified by inclusion of small proportions of various low molecular weight diols to increase the urethane concentration. The following studies were carried out: (1) the

The molecular characteristics of hydroxyl‐terminated polybutadiene
British Polymer Journal, 1985AbstractThree samples of a commercial hydroxyl‐terminated polybutadiene, Arco R45M. were characterised with respect to number‐average and weight‐average molar mass, intrinsic viscosity, number‐average hydroxyl functionality and effective functionality for gelation.

Functionality Distribution of Carboxyl- and Hydroxyl-Terminated Polybutadiene
Journal of Macromolecular Science: Part A - Chemistry, 1973Abstract Elurion from silica gel was used to fractionate liquid polymers according to the number of chemically reactive groups per molecule (the functionality). Methods are presented for the functionality fractionation of high and low functionality carboxyl-terminated polybutadiene (CTPB).

High-Pressure Combustion Characteristics of Hydroxyl-Terminated Polybutadiene Propellants
Journal of Propulsion and Power, 2023Combustion mechanisms of propellants under high pressures are necessary to solve the problems of a high burning rate pressure exponent in high-pressure solid rocket motors. In this study, the combustion characteristics of hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) propellants were investigated by analyzing the burning rate, the quenched surface, and the ...
