Radiation-induced pyrolysis of solid fuels for ramjet application

open access: yesPropulsion and Power Research, 2016
A wide variety of hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) based fuels are experimentally assessed in anaerobic reaction. In this study HTPB pyrolysis is investigated using a CO2 laser as the energy source.

Desenvolvimento de tecnologia de pré-polímeros na síntese de poliuretanos empregados em combustíveis sólidos

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2014
The aim of this work was to synthesize a polyurethane polymer matrix using polyols as a raw material to obtain a binder such as the hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) pre-polymer in energetic material formulation.

Modelling , of Polyurethanes Based on Hydroxyl- Terminated Polybutadiene

open access: yesDefence Science Journal, 1998
Forty formulations based on four different grades ofhydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene, HTPB(hydroxyl value 20- 40 mg KOHlg) at r = [NCO] / [OH] values in the range 0.7 -1.0 with varyingamounts of trimethylol propane and butane diol and containing 86 per cent solid loading wereconsidered to test the applicability of a.-model of Marsh, et al.

Hydroxyl‐Terminated Polybutadiene‐Based Molding Powders as an Alternative Route for Manufacturing Pressed Polymer‐Bonded Explosives

open access: yesPropellants, Explosives, Pyrotechnics, EarlyView.
This study presents an alternative method to manufacture polymer‐bonded explosives by partially curing an HTPB‐based molding powder prior to compaction. The study shows that the length of partial cure time before compaction directly influenced the geometric fidelity, homogeneity, compressive strength, density, and internal microstructure.

Oil and fat absorbing polymers [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
A method is described for forming a solid network polymer having a minimal amount of crosslinking for use in absorbing fats and oils. The polymer remains solid at a swelling ratio in oil or fat of at least ten and provides an oil absorption greater than ...
