Feature Extraction, Classification and Prediction for Hand Hygiene Gestures with KNN Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
There are six, well-structured hand gestures for washing hands as provided by World Health Organisation guidelines. In this paper, hand features such as contours of the hands, the centroid of the hands, and extreme hand points along the largest contour are extracted for specific hand-washing gestures with the use of a computer vision library, OpenCV ...

Engineered Tissue Models to Decode Host–Microbiota Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Host–Microbiota interactions in the human body. Created in BioRender. Ghezzi, C. (2025) https://BioRender.com/ihivskg. Abstract A mutualistic co‐evolution exists between the host and its associated microbiota in the human body. Bacteria establish ecological niches in various tissues of the body, locally influencing their physiology and functions, but ...

Nucleotides as an Anti‐Aging Supplementation in Older Adults: A Randomized Controlled Trial (TALENTs study)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The TALENTs randomized controlled trial evaluates the potential of nucleotides supplementation as an anti‐aging intervention in older adults. After 19 weeks, nucleotides supplementation significantly reduces DNA methylation age, suggesting a delay in epigenetic aging, and improves insulin sensitivity without severe adverse events.
