Imperforate Hymen

ABSTRACT An 11-year-old girl presented with pelvic pain for 2 weeks. Transabdominal ultrasound demonstrated a distended vagina filled with echogenic material consistent with blood. The uterus was visualized and was similarly distended. A diagnosis of hematocolpos and hematometria secondary to imperforate hymen was made.

Transperineal ultrasound demonstrates high reproducibility and objectivity in evaluating pelvic floor muscle contractility. When integrated with digital palpation, it enhances functional assessment and facilitates standardized, imaging‐based strategies for individualized pelvic floor muscle training in clinical practice.

Our combined systematic and scoping review finds that the Manchester procedure is a safe, effective option for uterine prolapse, offering favorable clinical, financial, and perioperative outcomes compared with other surgical techniques for uterine prolapse.
