Hymenochaetaceae (Basidiomycota) in China

An account of the Chinese species of Hymenochaetaceae based on most recent phylogenetic analysis is presented. One hundred and seventy species from 23 genera are recognized; descriptions are provided based on the Chinese collections. Keys to genera and species are given. Phellinopsis gen. nov. is introduced. Global diversity and phylogeny of Onnia (Hymenochaetaceae) species on gymnosperms

Onnia includes white rotting polypores with annual basidiocarps, a duplex context, monomitic hyphal structure, hymenial setae, and hyaline, thin-walled, smooth basidiospores. Specimens of Onnia, originating mainly from East Asia, Europe, and North America, were studied using both morphology and phylogenetic analyses.

Fomitiporia chilensis and Phylloporia boldo are described as new poroid species in the Hymenochaetaceae based on morphological, cultural, ecological, and phylogenetic analyses. Fomitiporia chilensis pertains to the Fomitiporia punctata species complex, being related to its Neotropical taxa.

A new species of Inonotus (Hymenochaetaceae) from Scandinavia

The new species Inonotus ulmicola belongs to the Inonotus obliquus complex. It is separated by the presence of solitary tramal setae, and by growing on Ulmus , and is reported from Denmark and Sweden.

A new poroid genus with two conspicuous and common species growing on living Fabaceae trees is described from the Seasonally Dry Tropical Forests biome of Brazil. Both taxa in this forest pathogen genus resemble Phellinus rimosus macroscopically, but are distinguished by a dimitic hyphal system with skeletal hyphae present only in the trama of the tube

Mensularia rhododendri (Hymenochaetaceae, Basidiomycota) from southwestern China

A new species Mensularia rhododendri is described from southwestern China on the basis of both morphological characters and molecular evidence. Phylogenetic analysis based on nuclear large subunit (nLSU) ribosomal RNA gene shows that the new species belongs to Mensularia.
