Vendor Types, Attendance, Experience and Sales 2019–2021: Evidence From Five Rural Oregon Farmers Markets

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Farmers markets provide a direct‐to‐consumer marketing path for farmers and small businesses, facilitating customer discovery and product refinement. This paper explores farmers markets as a business incubator, with a focus on beginning vendors and resilience to a shock, namely, COVID‐19 market restrictions.

Regional Differences in U.S. Consumer Preferences for Native Woody Shrubs With Varying Aesthetic Characteristics

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Native plants offer a variety of aesthetic (e.g., fall colour, fruit, flowers) and functional benefits (e.g., pollinator friendly, wildlife friendly, water management). How these benefits influence consumer choice and perceived value of native versus introduced plants is not well understood.

Michael-Simon type inequalities in hyperbolic space Hn+1 ${\mathbb{H}}^{n+1}$ via Brendle-Guan-Li’s flows

open access: yesAdvanced Nonlinear Studies
In the present paper, we first establish and verify a new sharp hyperbolic version of the Michael-Simon inequality for mean curvatures in hyperbolic space Hn+1 ${\mathbb{H}}^{n+1}$ based on the locally constrained inverse curvature flow introduced by ...

Volumes of Tubes in Hyperbolic 3-Manifolds

open access: yesJournal of Differential Geometry, 2001
``We give the first explicit lower bound for the length of a geodesic in a closed orientable hyperbolic 3-manifold \(M\) of lowest volume. We also give an upper bound for the tube radius of any shortest geodesic in \(M\). We explain how these results might be the first steps towards a rigorous computer assisted effort to determine the least volume ...

ChatCFD: A Large Language Model‐Driven Agent for End‐to‐End Computational Fluid Dynamics Automation with Structured Knowledge and Reasoning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Chat computational fluid dynamics (CFD) introduces an large language model (LLM)‐driven agent that automates OpenFOAM simulations end‐to‐end, attaining 82.1% execution success and 68.12% physical fidelity across 315 benchmarks—far surpassing prior systems.

Tubes in hyperbolic 3-manifolds

open access: yesTopology and its Applications, 2003
The author proves a lower bound on the volume of a maximal precisely invariant tube of radius \(r\) which meets itself at an angle \(\theta\) in a hyperbolic 3-orbifold. This result implies that any closed orientable hyperbolic 3-manifold has volume at least \(0.276666\) (recall that the smallest known volume manifold, obtained by Weeks, by Fomanko and

A Soft‐Tip Hydraulically Steerable Catheter for Enhanced Flexibility and Safety in Vascular Interventions

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study introduces a hydraulically steerable catheter with a soft tip in vascular procedures. The steering soft tip achieves a minimal diameter of 2.6 mm and supports a 180° bend. Real‐time shape and position tracking, facilitated by segmentation and endpoint detection techniques, improves navigation.
