Horocycles in hyperbolic 3-manifolds [PDF]
The authors describe the behaviour of horocycles in \textsl{rigid acylindrical manifolds}. These manifolds are quotients of the hyperbolic \(3\)-space by infinite-covolume, convex-cocompact and torsion-free Kleinian groups; their convex cores have totally geodesic boundaries. The authors prove that only three situation can arise: (1) the horocycle is a

A general model for analysis of linear and hyperbolic enzyme inhibition mechanisms
We developed a general enzyme kinetic model that integrates these six basic inhibition mechanism onto a single one. From this model, we deduced a general enzyme kinetic equation that through modulation of simple parameters, γ (the relative inhibitor affinity for two binding sites) and β (the reactivity of the enzyme–substrate–inhibitor complex), is ...

On 3-manifolds that support partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms
Let M be a closed 3-manifold that supports a partially hyperbolic diffeomorphism f. If $\pi_1(M)$ is nilpotent, the induced action of f on $H_1(M, R)$ is partially hyperbolic.

Use of Symptomatic Drug Treatment for Fatigue in Multiple Sclerosis and Patterns of Work Loss
ABSTRACT Objective To describe the use of central stimulants and amantadine for fatigue in MS and evaluate a potential association with reduced work loss in people with MS. Methods We conducted a nationwide, matched, register‐based cohort study in Sweden (2006 to 2023) using national registers with prospective data collection.

Topology of 3-dimensional manifolds [PDF]
This is the second paper from a trio which reviews some of the progress in low dimensional topology in the past century. Starting with the work of Poincare in the last years of 19th century and first few years of 20th century, we review the major steps ...

Objective This study examined the global and regional temporal changes in cross‐country inequalities of site‐specific osteoarthritis (OA) burden from 1990 to 2021. Methods Age‐standardized years lived with disability rates (ASYRs) for site‐specific OA across 204 countries and territories were obtained from the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and ...

ℝ–covered foliations of hyperbolic 3-manifolds [PDF]
We produce examples of taut foliations of hyperbolic 3-manifolds which are R-covered but not uniform --- ie the leaf space of the universal cover is R, but pairs of leaves are not contained in bounded neighborhoods of each other. This answers in the negative a conjecture of Thurston `Three-manifolds, foliations and circles I' (math.GT/9712268).

Small knots and large handle additions
We construct a hyperbolic 3-manifold $M$ (with $\partial M$ totally geodesic) which contains no essential closed surfaces, but for any even integer $g> 0$ there are infinitely many separating slopes $r$ on $\partial M$ so that $M[r]$, the 3-manifold ...

Objective The aim of this systematic review was to synthesize the economic impact of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) on households, health systems, and society in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs). Methods Electronic databases such as PubMed, Web of Science, and CINAHL were searched using keywords related to RA and cost of illness.

Next‐Generation Bio‐Reducible Lipids Enable Enhanced Vaccine Efficacy in Malaria and Primate Models
Structure–activity relationship (SAR) optimization of bio‐reducible ionizable lipids enables the development of highly effective lipid nanoparticle (LNP) mRNA vaccines. Lead LNPs show superior tolerability and antibody responses in rodents and primates, outperforming approved COVID‐19 vaccine lipids.
