Discontinuity in RG flows across dimensions: entanglement, anomaly coefficients and geometry

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We study the entanglement entropy associated with a holographic RG flow from AdS7 to AdS4 × ℍ 3, where ℍ 3 is a 3-dimensional hyperbolic manifold with curvature κ. The dual six-dimensional RG flow is disconnected from Lorentz-invariant flows.

Shape operator of an $ (n-1) $-dimensional distribution on an $ n $-dimensional manifold and their classification [PDF]

open access: yesریاضی و جامعه
This paper aims to study of shape operator of an $ (n-1) $-dimensional distribution on an $ n $-dimensional smooth manifold. In this study firstly we state formulae for the shape operator and its symmetric and anti-symmetric components and in ...

Design and Applications of Multi‐Frequency Programmable Metamaterials for Adaptive Stealth

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article provides a comprehensive overview of metamaterials, including their fundamental principles, properties, synthesis techniques, and applications in stealth, as well as their challenges and future prospects. It covers topics that are more advanced than those typically discussed in existing review articles, while still being closely connected ...

Inhalability and Bioactivity of Spray‐Dried versus Pressurized Gas eXpanded Liquid Technology‐Processed Yeast Beta‐Glucan Microparticles for Anti‐Fibrotic Therapies

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
PGXTEC) liquid technology is utilized to develop highly respirable yeast beta‐glucan (YBG) microparticles for the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis. Compared to conventionally processed spray‐dried YBG, PGXTEC‐YBG exhibits greatly improved aerodynamic properties, enhanced pro‐fibrotic macrophage uptake, and effective downregulation of pro‐fibrotic ...

3d gravity as a random ensemble

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We give further evidence that the matrix-tensor model studied in [1] is dual to AdS3 gravity including the sum over topologies. This provides a 3D version of the duality between JT gravity and an ensemble of random Hamiltonians, in which the matrix and ...

Shrinkwrapping and the taming of hyperbolic 3-manifolds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We introduce a new technique for finding CAT(-1) surfaces in hyperbolic 3-manifolds. We use this to show that a complete hyperbolic 3-manifold with finitely generated fundamental group is geometrically and topologically tame.Comment: 60 pages, 7 figures;

Norbornene Homopolymerization Limits Cell Spreading in Thiol–Ene Photoclick Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Thiol–norbornene click reactions are often used in the development of cell‐permissive 3D hydrogels. However, ene–ene crosslinks in other thiol–ene systems are known to limit permissivity. This study demonstrates the negative effects of norbornene homopolymerization on 3D cell spreading and circumvents the issue by modulating polymer degree of ...

Bifunctionally Driven Organic Photonic Conversion Devices Facilitated by Minimalistic Synthesis‐Based Interfacial Energetic Alignment

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A benzene‐phosphonic acid self‐assembled monolayer (BPA) simultaneously optimizes hole extraction and noise suppression, enabling bifunctional organic photovoltaics–photodetectors that deliver superb indoor performance and commercial viability. BPA‐devices achieve 28.6% PCE at 1000 lx, retain 93% efficiency on large‐scaled devices, and reach 584 fW NEP

Geometrically bounding 3-manifold, volume and Betti number

open access: yes, 2018
It is well known that an arbitrary closed orientable $3$-manifold can be realized as the unique boundary of a compact orientable $4$-manifold, that is, any closed orientable $3$-manifold is cobordant to zero.
