Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Screening for lung cancer: A systematic review of overdiagnosis and its implications
Low‐dose computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer may increase overdiagnosis compared to no screening, though the risk is likely low versus chest X‐ray. Our review of 8 trials (84 660 participants) shows added costs. Further research with strict adherence to modern nodule management strategies may help determine the extent to which ...

On the Superstability Related with the Trigonometric Functional Equation
We will investigate the superstability of the (hyperbolic) trigonometric functional equation from the following functional equations: , , , , which can be considered the mixed functional equations of the sine function and cosine function, of the ...

A general model for analysis of linear and hyperbolic enzyme inhibition mechanisms
We developed a general enzyme kinetic model that integrates these six basic inhibition mechanism onto a single one. From this model, we deduced a general enzyme kinetic equation that through modulation of simple parameters, γ (the relative inhibitor affinity for two binding sites) and β (the reactivity of the enzyme–substrate–inhibitor complex), is ...

A local saddle point for the hyperbolic augmented Lagrangian function
In this paper, we study the hyperbolic augmented Lagrangian function, which is based on the hyperbolic penalty function. We ensure the existence of a local saddle point for the hyperbolic augmented Lagrangian function in nonconvex constrained ...

This note is concerned with the dynamics of 1D temperature waves generated by time modulation of a boundary heat flux. It demonstrates how a certain temporal transfer function of both parabolic and low frequency hyperbolic interfacial temperature waves ...

Hyperbolically convex functions [PDF]
A region \(\Omega\subset D= \{z\mid | z|< 1\}\) is called hyperbolically convex if for all \(a,b\subset \Omega\) the hyperbolic geodesic connecting \(a\) and \(b\) lies in \(\Omega\). A holomorphic function \(f: D\to D\) is called hyperbolically convex if it is univalent, \(f(D)\) is hyperbolically convex and \(f(0)= 0\), \(f'(0)> 0\).

Probing hyperbolic polaritons using infrared attenuated total reflectance micro-spectroscopy
Hyperbolic polariton modes are highly appealing for a broad range of applications in nanophotonics, including surfaced enhanced sensing, sub-diffractional imaging and reconfigurable metasurfaces.
