Machine Learning‐Enabled Polymer Discovery for Enhanced Pulmonary siRNA Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study provides an efficient approach to train a machine learning model by merging heterogeneous literature data to predict suitable polymers for siRNA delivery. Without the need for extensive laboratory synthesis, the machine learning enabled a virtual screening and successfully predicted a polymer that is validated for effective gene silencing in

3D Concrete Printing of Triply Periodic Minimum Surfaces for Enhanced Carbon Capture and Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D‐printable and carbon‐capturing concrete is developed by replacing cement with diatomaceous earth (DE), which enhances rheology, provides hierarchical porosity, and serves as a nucleation site for carbonation. Maximum absorption of 488.7 gCO2 kgcement−1 is achieved in 7 days, a 142% increase over conventional concrete, and the triply periodic ...

Sigma models with negative curvature

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2016
We construct Higgs Effective Field Theory (HEFT) based on the scalar manifold Hn, which is a hyperbolic space of constant negative curvature. The Lagrangian has a non-compact O(n,1) global symmetry group, but it gives a unitary theory as long as only a ...

Cusps, Kleinian groups, and Eisenstein series

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma, 2023
We study the Eisenstein series associated to the full rank cusps in a complete hyperbolic manifold. We show that given a Kleinian group $\Gamma

A locally hyperbolic 3-manifold that is not hyperbolic

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 2018
We construct a locally hyperbolic 3-manifold M ∞ M_\infty such that π 1 ( M ∞ ) \pi _1(M_\infty ) has no divisible subgroup.

Volumes of cusped hyperbolic manifolds [PDF]

open access: yesTopology, 1998
This paper (part of the author's Habilitation thesis) gives new estimates on the volume of an \(m\)-cusped hyperbolic \(n\)-manifold in terms of \(m\) and \(n\) (and other invariants). These estimates refine earlier work by Meyerhoff, Adams, and others. The main technique involves the density of packings of hyperbolic space by horoballs.

Additively Manufactured 3D Auxetic Metamaterials for Structurally Guided Capacitive and Resistive Tactile Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D‐architected auxetic metamaterial is used to construct capacitive and resistive tactile sensors via digital light processing‐based additive manufacturing. The inward deformation of the proposed structure under compression amplifies local strain, enhancing sensing performance.

Persistence of invariant manifolds for perturbations of semiflows with symmetry

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 1999
Consider a semiflow in a Banach space, which is invariant under the action of a compact Lie group. Any equilibrium generates a manifold of equilibria under the action of the group.

Bifurcation of solutions through a contact manifold in bidisperse models

open access: yesFrontiers in Applied Mathematics and Statistics, 2023
This research focuses on a hyperbolic system that describes bidisperse suspensions, consisting of two types of small particles dispersed in a viscous fluid.

Next‐Generation Bio‐Reducible Lipids Enable Enhanced Vaccine Efficacy in Malaria and Primate Models

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Structure–activity relationship (SAR) optimization of bio‐reducible ionizable lipids enables the development of highly effective lipid nanoparticle (LNP) mRNA vaccines. Lead LNPs show superior tolerability and antibody responses in rodents and primates, outperforming approved COVID‐19 vaccine lipids.
