A square, shallow, elastic hyperbolic paraboloid shell is considered. Local failures of shell membrane and flexible edge beam in a ruled surface due to bending and twisting effects are considered under symmetric loading condition. Differential equations have been discussed with consideration of shell membrane and edge beam.

This chapter considers dynamic characteristics of stiffened composite hyperbolic paraboloid shell panel with cutout under free vibration in terms of natural frequency and mode shapes. Finite element method is used for the analysis by combining an eight-noded curved shell element with a three-noded curved beam element.
