Geometric Cone Surfaces and (2+1)- Gravity coupled to Particles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We introduce the (2+1)-spacetimes with compact space of genus g and with r gravitating particles which arise by ``Minkowskian suspensions of flat or hyperbolic cone surfaces'', by ``distinguished deformations'' of hyperbolic suspensions and by ...

Volume preserving flow and Alexandrov–Fenchel type inequalities in hyperbolic space [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the European Mathematical Society (Print), 2018
In this paper, we study flows of hypersurfaces in hyperbolic space, and apply them to prove geometric inequalities. In the first part of the paper, we consider volume preserving flows by a family of curvature functions including positive powers of $k$-th

Projective structures, grafting, and measured laminations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We show that grafting any fixed hyperbolic surface defines a homeomorphism from the space of measured laminations to Teichmuller space, complementing a result of Scannell-Wolf on grafting by a fixed lamination.

Statistical Hyperbolicity in Teichmüller Space [PDF]

open access: yesGeometric and Functional Analysis, 2014
In this paper we explore the idea that Teichmüller space is hyperbolic "on average." Our approach focuses on studying the geometry of geodesics which spend a definite proportion of time in some thick part of Teichmüller space. We consider several different measures on Teichmüller space and find that this behavior for geodesics is indeed typical.

Critical properties of the Ising model in hyperbolic space. [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2019
The Ising model exhibits qualitatively different properties in hyperbolic space in comparison to its flat space counterpart. Due to the negative curvature, a finite fraction of the total number of spins reside at the boundary of a volume in hyperbolic ...

Vacua and correlators in hyperbolic de Sitter space [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We study the power - and bi -spectrum of vacuum fluctuations in a hyperbolic section of de Sitter space, comparing two states of physical interest: the Bunch-Davies and hyperbolic vacuum.

Unconditional existence of conformally hyperbolic Yamabe flows

open access: yes, 2019
We prove global existence of instantaneously complete Yamabe flows on hyperbolic space of arbitrary dimension $m\geq3$ starting from any smooth, conformally hyperbolic initial metric. We do not require initial completeness or curvature bounds.

Gradient-based Hierarchical Clustering using Continuous Representations of Trees in Hyperbolic Space

open access: yesKnowledge Discovery and Data Mining, 2019
Hierarchical clustering is typically performed using algorithmic-based optimization searching over the discrete space of trees. While these optimization methods are often effective, their discreteness restricts them from many of the benefits of their ...

Volume of $C^{1,\alpha}$-boundary domain in extended hyperbolic space

open access: yes, 2006
We consider the projectivization of Minkowski space with the analytic continuation of the hyperbolic metric and call this an extended hyperbolic space.

Sharp Hardy–Adams inequalities for bi-Laplacian on hyperbolic space of dimension four [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We establish sharp Hardy–Adams inequalities on hyperbolic space B 4 of dimension four. Namely, we will show that for any α > 0 there exists a constant C α > 0 such that ∫ B 4 ( e 32 π 2 u 2 − 1 − 32 π 2 u 2 ) d V = 16 ∫ B 4 e 32 π 2 u 2 − 1 − 32 π 2 u 2 (
