Cerebrovascular pulsatility following long duration spaceflight is associated with changes in pulse pressure and carotid artery stiffness

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Central artery stiffening increases the haemodynamic pulsations transmitted downstream towards target organs, including the brain. While recent evidence suggests that long duration spaceflight is associated with reduced common carotid artery (CCA) distensibility, cerebrovascular pulsatility has not been extensively characterized in astronauts.

Event‐Triggered Saturating Control for Synchronization of Lur'e Type Complex Dynamic Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, Volume 36, Issue 4, Page 2184-2198, 10 March 2026.
ABSTRACT This article addresses the problem of synchronizing discrete‐time Lur'e type complex dynamic networks (CDNs) via dynamic event‐triggered control. In particular, it is considered that the control signal of each node is subject to input saturation. Using the Lyapunov Stability Theory, properties of slope‐restricted nonlinearities, and the linear

New partial skeleton of Homo habilis from the upper Burgi Member, Koobi Fora Formation, Ileret, Kenya

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 309, Issue 3, Page 485-545, March 2026.
Abstract KNM‐ER 64061 is a partial skeleton from the upper Burgi Member of the Koobi Fora Formation (2.02–2.06 Ma) associated taphonomically and geochemically with a nearly complete mandibular dentition (KNM‐ER 64060) attributed to Homo habilis.

Accurate State of Charge Estimation in Lithium‐Ion Batteries by Second‐Order Sliding Mode Observer

open access: yesBattery Energy, Volume 5, Issue 2, March 2026.
A finite‐time second‐order sliding mode observer (SO‐SMO) is proposed for accurate and robust state‐of‐charge estimation in lithium‐ion batteries, achieving fast convergence, chattering elimination, and superior estimation accuracy compared to conventional methods, making it ideal for real‐time battery management applications in electric and hybrid ...
