Light Meets Nature: Cellulose Cluster as a Natural Photoantimicrobial Agent

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
Cellulose derivatives exhibit cluster‐triggered emission, generating singlet oxygen through long‐lived excitonic states without conventional chromophores. This work reveals strong photoantimicrobial activity against Gram‐positive bacteria, transforming cellulose from an inactive excipient into an effective photodynamic agent.

Intramolecular cyclization in hyperbranched polyesters

open access: yes, 1997
The effect of monomer structure and catalyst on the synthesis of hyperbranched polyesters based on 4,4-(4′-hydroxyphenyl)pentanoic acid has been examined. The nature of the ester group and the catalyst have a significant effect on the molecular weight of

Functional, Hyperbranched Polyesters Via Baylis-Hillman Polymerization

open access: yes
Hyperbranched polyesters are among the most common hyperbranched polymers. One of the interesting features of hyperbranched polyesters is that they contain unreacted hydroxyl and carboxylic acid groups at the linear and terminal structural units, which ...

Ionization of acid-functionalized hyperbranched polyesters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Ionization of second- and third-generation hyperbranched polyesters functionalized by different acids was studied by mathematic simulation of experimental titration curves using the CPESSP programme.

HYPERBRANCHED ALIPHATIC POLYESTERS

open access: yes, 1995
Hyperbranched, aliphatic polyesters of theoretically calculated molar masses 1200-44 300 were synthesized in the molten state from 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)propionic acid (repeating unit of AB(x) type) and 2-ethyl-2-(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-propanediol (core ...

Rheological Characteristics of Hyperbranched Polyesters

open access: yes
When the effects of physical aging below Tg are erased, the rheological response of a series of aliphatic hyperbranched polyesters is Newtonian and the melt viscosity scales roughly linearly with Mw at high Mw, indicating entanglement to be absent.
