Modulators of Diacylglycerol Kinase Activity: A Review of Advances and Challenges

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, Volume 46, Issue 1, Page 149-175, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Catalyzing the conversion of diacylglycerol (DAG) in phosphatidic acid (PA), diacylglycerol kinases (DGKs) play a pivotal role in all the physiological processes modulated by these two bioactive lipids, such as lipid metabolism and immune regulation.

Error‐Related Brain Potentials as Biomarkers of Pathology Severity and Treatment Resistance in Patients With Obsessive‐Compulsive Disorder

open access: yesDepression and Anxiety, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Obsessive‐compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric condition that varies considerably in severity and resistance to treatment. The aim of this study was to identify error detection abnormalities in OCD patients using evoked potential recordings and to determine whether links could be established between individual patients’ error detection processes ...

Factors Associated With Quality of Life and Treatment Practice Among Melasma Patients in Nepal

open access: yesDermatology Research and Practice, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Background Melasma is chronic, acquired hypermelanosis that commonly appears on sun‐exposed areas of the skin. Although it is asymptomatic, it can significantly affect patients’ psychosocial and emotional well‐being, ultimately reducing their quality of life. This study aimed to assess the factors associated with quality of life and treatment practices

Aging as a Loss of Goal‐Directedness: An Evolutionary Simulation and Analysis Unifying Regeneration with Anatomical Rejuvenation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 46, December 11, 2025.
The paper proposes that the root cause of aging is the loss of anatomical goal‐directedness after development. Using evolutionary neural cellular automata simulations, the authors show that after the organism has reached its developmental homeostatic setpoint (the adult morphology), the absence of target state to pursue leads to a drifting anatomical ...

Vocal Fold Kinematics in Phonotrauma From High Speed Videoendoscopy

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, Volume 135, Issue 12, Page 4823-4829, December 2025.
This study aimed to quantify vocal fold vibratory kinematics associated with phonotraumatic vocal fold lesions. Results found that individuals with phonotrauma had increased vocal fold closing velocity, evidenced by a higher maximum area declination rate, and increased vibrational amplitude.

Twisted convolution and Moyal star product of generalized functions

open access: yes, 2012
We consider nuclear function spaces on which the Weyl-Heisenberg group acts continuously and study the basic properties of the twisted convolution product of the functions with the dual space elements.

The Evolving Landscape of Immunotoxicity: Charting Mechanisms and Future Strategies for Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor Adverse Events

open access: yesMed Research, Volume 1, Issue 3, Page 322-358, December 2025.
ABSTRACT The use of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) has significantly improved the efficacy of cancer therapy, but their associated immune‐related adverse events (irAEs) can severely compromise treatment safety. This review systematically summarizes the core mechanisms underlying irAEs, which include multi‐organ damage resulting from T‐cell ...

Parkinson's Disease and Cancer: Mechanistic Insights and Therapeutic Opportunities From Cancer Neuroscience

open access: yesMedComm – Oncology, Volume 4, Issue 4, December 2025.
Parkinson's disease (PD) and glioma are neurological disorders with distinct and even opposing mechanisms: α‐synuclein deposition and neuronal loss in PD versus glial cell malignancy in glioma. Despite these differences, their contrasting pathologies highlight multiple therapeutic targets.

Spasmodic Dysphonia

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, Volume 11, Issue 4, Page 548-567, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Spasmodic dysphonia is a laryngeal dystonia that can present as adductor, abductor, or mixed types, with or without tremor. The etiology is not understood fully. Comprehensive evaluation is required to establish the diagnosis. Treatments include voice therapy, medications, botulinum toxin injection, laryngeal surgery, deep brain stimulation ...
