Properties of matrix variate hypergeometric function distribution
, 2017In this article, we study several properties of matrix variate hypergeometric function distribution which is a generalization of the matrix variate beta distribution.

Models for Gaussian Hypergeometric Distributions
1975The four distributions discussed here belong to two partially overlapping classes. The class (es) to which each belongs is found to determine the kinds of models giving rise to it. Urn, contagion, stochastic and STER process models are considered together with conditionally, weighting and mixing models.

Tables of the Hypergeometric Distribution Functions
1963Abstract : Tables and graphs based on the hypergeometric distribution are presented for use in determining the confidence interval of the sample estimate of the number of defectives in a finite population. Similarly, the sample size can be determined which would give a certain quality level as the lower bound for a selected confidence level.

A Comparison of Hypergeometric Distributions with Corresponding Binomial Distributions [PDF]
The probability functions of the hypergeometric (Hy) and binomial (Bi) distributions are compared by means of simple majorizing functions (upper bounds) for the ratio R = Hy/Bi. After applying a suitable permutation of parameters (if necessary) R can always be kept below \( \sqrt {2} \).
