We studied the impact of duration of untreated illness (DUI) on the course of 76 patients affected by anorexia nervosa. Our findings showed that patients with longer DUIs have specific clinical and biochemical alterations. Prevention strategies are necessary to reduce DUI and improve AN prognosis.
