The authors give the construction algorithm for hyperplane nets (a generalization of polynomial lattice point sets), and prove that the constructed hyperplane nets are extensible and good with respect to a certain quality criterion. They also give some pure existence results for extensible hyperplane nets of good quality with respect to the worst-case ...

Estimating Soil Compaction Risk at Regional Scales Using Meteorological Data and Soil Spectroscopy
ABSTRACT Soil compaction is a significant form of soil degradation in Europe, reducing agricultural productivity, limiting carbon sequestration and increasing greenhouse gases emissions. In response, the forthcoming European Union Soil Monitoring and Resilience Law requires spatial assessment of topsoil and subsoil compaction risk at district, that is,

Mathematical Analysis and Simulations of a Cancer Model With Interleukins and Delayed Immunotherapy
ABSTRACT A new system of delayed differential equations for tumor‐immune system interactions is proposed and studied. The system describes the interactions between tumor cells and the immune system at the most aggressive phase of cancer, where tumor cells have developed mechanisms from earlier stages to evade immune responses.

Reference Point Hyperplane Trees [PDF]
We make the simple observation that, the deeper a data item is within the tree, the higher the probability of that item being excluded from a search. Assuming a fixed and independent probability p of any subtree being excluded at query time, the probability of an individual data item being accessed is (1-p)d for a node at depth d.

ABSTRACT With the aim to explore the potential of machine learning for nonprofit research, this article contrasts traditional linear regression with four contemporary supervised machine learning approaches. Concretely, we predict (1) reputation ratings and (2) the total number of volunteers for 4021 non‐profit organizations in the U.S.

Solving for Blameless and Optimal Control Under Prioritized Safety Constraints
Summary of the proposed method for solving for blameless and optimal control sequences. ABSTRACT In many safety‐critical optimal control problems, users may request multiple safety constraints that are jointly infeasible due to external factors such as subsystem failures, unexpected disturbances, or fuel limitations.

Eavesdropping against wireless spatial scrambling secure communication: hyperplane clustering
The existing eavesdropping method has poor anti-noise performance and high complexity, which makes it not practical. It is shown that the received scrambled signals are distributed within parallel hyperplanes if adequate antennas are equipped by ...

This study investigates the impact of FDM process parameters on the flexural strength of PLA components using a Taguchi L27 orthogonal array. Analysis reveals wall thickness and layer height as the primary determinants of mechanical performance. A highly accurate regression model is developed, providing a robust predictive framework to optimize 3D ...

Permafrost Distribution in the Canadian Rockies: Key Variables Influencing Patch‐Scale Variability
ABSTRACT The spatial distribution of permafrost in mountainous regions is influenced by various factors such as topography, climate, vegetation, and substrate. Despite the existence of comprehensive permafrost maps at national and global levels, they fail to accurately represent the patch‐scale (e.g., < 25 m) permafrost distribution in characteristic ...
