Immediate hypersensitivity and delayed hypersensitivity to Clopidogrel

open access: yesAllergologia et Immunopathologia, 2007
Clopidogrel is a new antiplatelet prescribed for the secondary prevention of atherosclerotic events. The literature shows that the clinical manifestations of clopidogrel hypersensitivity include urticaria1, skin rash2-4, and angioedema5. The precise immunological mechanism underlying clopidogrel hypersensitivity has not been established.

REGULATION OF DELAYED HYPERSENSITIVITY [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Experimental Medicine, 1973
Two potential mechanisms for terminating delayed hypersensitivity (DH) reactions have been examined in desensitized guinea pigs. Lack of macrophage responsiveness to lymphokines was sought as an explanation for the reduced ability of these animals to express delayed hypersensitivity.

Delayed hypersensitivity reactions to corticosteroids

open access: yesAllergologia et Immunopathologia, 2005
Corticosteroids (CS) are widely used in the treatment of asthma, allergic disorders and other immunological diseases due to their anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. Physicians seldom suspect them of causing allergic reactions. However, more and more cases of hypersensitivity reactions to CS have been described.

Delayed hypersensitivity to bosentan

Allergy, 2009
This is the first case of a cell-mediated hypersensitivity to bosentan diagnosed on the basis of positive responses to the lymphocyte transformation test and a challenge. However, the latter provoked a severe reaction (DRESS)

Delayed hypersensitivity to flurbiprofen

Journal of Internal Medicine, 1997
Immune‐mediated reactions to nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are unusual, and true allergy to the drug flurbiprofen has never been documented. We observed a patient who developed a maculopapular rash 48 h after beginning oral therapy with this drug, and 2 days later, angioedema and hypotension.

Delayed Hypersensitivity

The Journal of Immunology, 1968
Summary Transfer of sensitized cells to normal guinea pigs was used to study persistence and conjugate specificity of delayed hypersensitivity. Ability of donor cells to transfer delayed hypersensitivity persisted throughout the primary and secondary antibody responses of the donor animals.

Delayed Hypersensitivity in vitro

Nature, 1967
DURING investigations of the effects of induced immune paralysis on delayed hypersensitivity in vivo and in vitro, evidence has been found1,2 for a diffusible factor which is released from the sensitive cells in contact with the antigen; this factor inhibits migration of cells from a normal lymph node explant.

Delayed hypersensitivity to piperacillin

Allergy, 2002
. PIPERACILLIN (PP) is a wide-spectrum bactericidal ureidopenicillin. There have been a number of reports of cutaneous adverse reactions to PP, particularly in patients affected by cystic fibrosis. A cellmediated immunopathogenic mechanism has been demonstrated (on the basis of patch-test or delayed intradermal-test positivity) in only two cases of ...

Delayed‐Type Hypersensitivity

Current Protocols in Immunology, 2001
AbstractDelayed‐type hypersensitivity (DTH) is an in vivo assay of cell‐mediated immune function. DTH reactions are often divided into two phases: the sensitization phase, referring to the initial immunization with specific antigen, and the efferent or challenge phase of the DTH response, which usually follows 6 to 14 days after sensitization.
