2005Hypersensitivity reactions occur when the immune system acts in an exaggerated manner leading to tissue damage. Delayed hypersensitivity is an immunologic reaction that is mediated primarily by T cells and monocytes and presents hours to days after the antigen crosses into the skin.

In a double‐blind format, the individuals in one group were placed on 4 gm aspirin daily for 5 days, and individuals in the other group were given placebo.
