Predictive Differential Game Guidance Approach for Hypersonic Target Interception Based on CQPSO

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2022
In the descent phase of the hypersonic target flight trajectory, the hypersonic speed of the target makes the reaction time shorter. Due to overload restrictions, it is challenging for the interceptor to achieve successful interception.

Hypersonic Jets of Detonation Products in the Hydrodynamic Collapse of Macroscopic Voids

open access: yesPropellants, Explosives, Pyrotechnics, Volume 50, Issue 6, June 2025.
Using machined mm‐scale voids at the surface of PBX 9501 samples, detonation‐driven jets of product gases form. We find that there is an optimal distance from the charge surface at which the energy transfer due to this jetting is maximized using witness plate impact experiments and hydrocode simulations.

GNSS Remote Sensing of Man‐Made Space Weather Events on Consecutive Days Over East Asia

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 23, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract The maiden launch of Gravity‐1, labeled as the most powerful all‐solid propellent rocket yet, on 11‐January‐2024 around 0530 UT from an offshore launch platform, Yellow‐Sea, China by OrienSpace was followed by the 48th launch of H‐IIA rocket from Tanegashima space center by Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency at 0444 UT the next day.

Nanosecond Hyperquenching for Electron Cryo‐Microscopy Without Air‐Water Interface Artifacts

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 29, May 22, 2025.
A novel method for the ultrafast vitrification of the biological assemblies is assayed by the electron cryotomography. Protein specimens prepared by this method inherently lack the spatial/structural artifacts, which derive from the surface tension at the air‐water interface (AWI).

Aluminum Scandium Nitride as a Functional Material at 1000 °C

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, Volume 11, Issue 6, May 2025.
Aluminum scandium nitride (AlScN) exhibits remarkable ferroelectric, piezoelectric, and dielectric stability at extreme temperatures. This study demonstrates the robust performance of TaSi2/AlScN/TaSi2 capacitors up to 1000 °C, revealing a substantial increase in piezoelectricity and a marked reduction in coercive field.

Tunable Hypersonic Resonators via Electron‐Irradiation‐Induced Giant Modulation of Microparticle Elasticity

open access: yesSmall, Volume 21, Issue 18, May 5, 2025.
A strategy is presented to tune the elastic properties of Stöber silica microparticles, widely used in phononic materials, by exposing them to moderate electron beam energies. This results in rapid elasticity changes, investigated via Brillouin light scattering, and attributed to radiation‐induced stiffening.

Inferring Fireball Velocity Profiles and Characteristic Parameters of Meteoroids From Incomplete Data Sets

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 130, Issue 5, May 2025.
Abstract Extracting additional information from old or incomplete fireball data sets remains a challenge. To address missing point‐by‐point observations, we introduce a method for estimating atmospheric flight parameters of meteoroids using metaheuristic optimization techniques.

Unconventionally Designed Tracking Loop Adaptable to Plasma Sheath Channel for Hypersonic Vehicles

open access: yesSensors, 2020
An aircraft that moves through the atmosphere at hypersonic speed is covered by plasma sheath, which causes random and fast time-varying amplitude attenuation and phase fluctuation in received signals. This paper comprehensively analyzes the mechanism of

Forward Defence, Hamas‐Hezbollah War With Israel and Iran's Path to Nuclear Bombs

open access: yesGlobal Policy, Volume 16, Issue 2, Page 299-305, May 2025.
ABSTRACT In the wake of the Hamas–Hezbollah war with Israel following the 7 October 2023, the Iran–Israel shadow war escalated into direct military conflict. While addressing the characteristics of Iran's deterrence strategy, the present contribution argues that in case of escalation in the Middle East region, the so‐called ‘forward defence’ doctrine ...
