Differentiating solar lentigines from post‐inflammatory hyperpigmentation with hyperspectral imaging: A pilot study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, EarlyView.
This preliminary study attempted to characterize solar lentigines and post‐inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) observed on Japanese women. Colorimetric features and chromophore concentrations were measured using hyperspectral imaging for each hyperpigmentation type.

Breeding 5.0: Artificial intelligence (AI)‐decoded germplasm for accelerated crop innovation

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Crop breeding technologies are vital for global food security. While traditional methods have improved yield, stress tolerance, and nutrition, rising challenges such as climate instability, land loss, and pest pressure now demand new solutions.

Brain tissue classification in hyperspectral images using multistage diffusion features and transformer

open access: yesJournal of Microscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Brain surgery is a widely practised and effective treatment for brain tumours, but accurately identifying and classifying tumour boundaries is crucial to maximise resection and avoid neurological complications. This precision in classification is essential for guiding surgical decisions and subsequent treatment planning.

Local spatial distribution of J‐aggregates in molecularly oriented bisazo‐dye thin films

open access: yesJournal of Microscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract The spatial distribution of partially grown J‐aggregates in films of oriented linear bisazo‐dye molecules is analysed using polarised optical microscopy (POM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and hyperspectral imaging. By depositing the bisazo dye onto a poly(tetrafluoroethylene) alignment layer, an oriented thin film containing highly oriented

Bridging data silos to holistically model plant macrophenology

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary Phenological response to global climate change can impact ecosystem functions. There are various data sources from which spatiotemporal and taxonomic phenological data may be obtained: mobilized herbaria, community science initiatives, observatory networks, and remote sensing.
