Detection of Frost-Damaged Maize Kernels for Food Quality Screening Using Hyperspectral Imaging and 2D-COS-Assisted Deep Learning. [PDF]

open access: yesFood Sci Nutr
This work presents a nondestructive strategy for identifying frost‐damaged maize kernels using hyperspectral imaging (900–1700 nm) combined with 2D‐COS‐assisted deep learning. MSC preprocessing was adopted, and 432 frost‐damage‐related characteristic bands were extracted by 2D‐COS.

EnMAP: hyperspectral Imager (HSI) for Earth observation: current status [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Conference on Space Optics — ICSO 2018, 2019
The Environmental Mapping and Analysis Program (EnMAP) is a German space borne science mission that aims at characterizing the Earth’s environment on a global scale. The single payload of the satellite is the Hyperspectral Imager (HSI). It is capable of measuring the solar radiance reflected from the Earth’s surface as a continuous spectrum in the ...

Lightfield hyperspectral imaging in neuro-oncology surgery: an IDEAL 0 and 1 study

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2023
IntroductionHyperspectral imaging (HSI) has shown promise in the field of intra-operative imaging and tissue differentiation as it carries the capability to provide real-time information invisible to the naked eye whilst remaining label free.

A background correction method to compensate illumination variation in hyperspectral imaging.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
Hyperspectral imaging (HSI) can measure both spatial (morphological) and spectral (biochemical) information from biological tissues. While HSI appears promising for biomedical applications, interpretation of hyperspectral images can be challenging when ...

HeiPorSPECTRAL - the Heidelberg Porcine HyperSPECTRAL Imaging Dataset of 20 Physiological Organs

open access: yesScientific Data, 2023
Hyperspectral Imaging (HSI) is a relatively new medical imaging modality that exploits an area of diagnostic potential formerly untouched. Although exploratory translational and clinical studies exist, no surgical HSI datasets are openly accessible to ...

Hyperspectral imaging (hsi): applications in animal and dairy sector

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Biology and Agricultural Sciences, 2016
Hyperspectral imaging (HSI), also known as imaging spectroscopy or 3D spectroscopy, combines imaging and spectroscopy into a single system. With a high resolution measurement of spectral signatures, HSI is able to provide critical information of the target.

Low-Rank and Sparse Matrix Recovery for Hyperspectral Image Reconstruction Using Bayesian Learning

open access: yesSensors, 2022
In order to reduce the amount of hyperspectral imaging (HSI) data transmission required through hyperspectral remote sensing (HRS), we propose a structured low-rank and joint-sparse (L&S) data compression and reconstruction method.

Surgical hyperspectral imaging: a systematic review

open access: yesComputer Assisted Surgery
Hyperspectral imaging (HSI) is a technique that captures and processes information across a wide spectrum of wavelengths, providing detailed spectral data for each pixel in an image to identify and analyze materials or objects. In the surgical domain, it

Hyperspectral Imaging Combined with Deep Learning to Detect Ischemic Necrosis in Small Intestinal Tissue

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
Obtaining adequate resection margins in small intestinal necrotic tissue remains challenging due to the lack of intraoperative feedback. Here, we used hyperspectral imaging (HSI), an imaging technique for objective identification, combined with deep ...
