Inversion of Net Photosynthetic Rate in Winter Rapeseed Based on UAV Multispectral Vegetation Indices and Texture Features

open access: yesFood and Energy Security, Volume 15, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
ABSTRACT Net photosynthetic rate (Pn) serves as a key indicator for evaluating plant growth and yield. In order to explore an effective method for monitoring winter rapeseed Pn using unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) multispectral technology, the winter rapeseed was taken as the research object and the multispectral images were obtained through UAVs in ...

Hyperspectral optical signatures of iron‐limitation in a coastal upwelling system

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography, Volume 71, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Iron‐limitation within the California Current System drives changes in phytoplankton taxonomic composition and photo‐physiology over a range of spatial scales. Here we demonstrate how these iron‐dependent signatures can be resolved, with high spatial resolution, using continuous ship‐board optical measurements.

Quantifying methane emissions from Laurentian Great Lakes estuaries using in situ measurements, remote sensing, and machine learning

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography Letters, Volume 11, Issue 2, March 2026.
Abstract Freshwater estuaries are natural contributors to the carbon cycle, including production and emission of methane (CH4), a potent greenhouse gas (GHG); however, estimates of their contribution to global GHG emissions is uncertain. Recent research has identified the potential for quantifying limnetic methane using optical remote sensing coupled ...
