Hyperstability in an inland recreational fishery: Are catch-per-unit-effort data masking the magnitude of steelhead declines?

Transactions of the American Fisheries Society
Recreational fisheries are complex social–ecological systems, with interactions and feedbacks across local and regional scales and among individual fish, anglers, and managers. Understanding the link between true fish abundance and angler catch per

Hyperstability and identification

1970 IEEE Symposium on Adaptive Processes (9th) Decision and Control, 1970
This paper considers the process identification by means an adjustable model. An approach to the synthesis of this type of on-line identification system via the hyperstability theory is proposed. Two typical situations for identification are considered (the "ideal case" and the "real case").

Parameter optimized hyperstable controllers

[1991] Proceedings of the 30th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2002
A parameterization of hyperstable linear time-invariant controllers is proposed, where the free parameters are to be determined by parameter optimization in order to meet various design requirements of the closed-loop system. The class of hyperstable controllers is of special importance since a control loop with hyperstable controller is guaranteed to ...

Robustness of Asymptotic Hyperstability

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1987
Abstract The robustness of asymptotic hyperstabiIity for the perturbation caused by parasitic dynamics is analyzed by using the singular perturbation method. Since the strictly positive realness of a transfer function is not robust for such perturbations, it is required that some kind of limitations must be set to the hyperstabiIity problem.

In Vitro Evolution of a Hyperstable Gβ1 Variant

Journal of Molecular Biology, 2006
An in-vitro selection strategy was used to obtain strongly stabilized variants of the beta1 domain of protein G (Gbeta1). In a two-step approach, first candidate positions with a high potential for stabilization were identified in Gbeta1 libraries that were created by error-prone PCR, and then, after randomization of these positions by saturation ...

On the hyperstability of a class of hybrid systems

International Journal of Systems Science, 1997
Abstract Sufficient conditions of the hyperstability of a class of single-input single-output hybrid systems, composed of interconnected continuous and discrete subsystems, are given. Hyperstability is guaranteed by that of a discrete extended system which is built by incorporating samples of the continuous substrate.

Aza-Glycine Induces Collagen Hyperstability

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2015
Hydrogen bonding is fundamental to life on our planet, and nature utilizes H-bonding in nearly all biomolecular interactions. Often, H-bonding is already maximized in natural biopolymer systems such as nucleic acids, where Watson-Crick H-bonds are fully paired in double-helical structures.

Closed-loop hyperstability of interval plants

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1994
Summary: This note examines the conditions for robust bounded-input bounded-output closed-loop stability of interval plants when there is a nonlinear element in the feedback path. Specifically, we present the robust generalized circle criterion and the Popov's criterion.

Subband hyperstable adaptive iir filters

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Analog and Digital Signal Processing, 2003
Two subband implementations of hyperstability based adaptive infinite-impulse response (IIR) filtering algorithms are presented. These schemes are based on the polyphase decomposition of the adaptive filter and do not require cross filters to avoid aliasing.
