Atrial Flutter as a Late Presentation of Scimitar Vein in an Adult With Prior ASD Repair
ABSTRACT Adult patients with unexplained atrial arrhythmias and right heart dilation should prompt consideration of congenital anomalies such as scimitar vein, even decades after atrial septal defect repair. Beta Blocker Toxicity at Therapeutic Doses: A Look Into Carvedilol Use in the Elderly
ABSTRACT Beta‐blocker toxicity does not occur only in overdose situations. In vulnerable populations such as children and the elderly, therapeutic doses may produce cumulative toxic effects similar to those seen in acute overdose. These patients require monitoring that extends beyond basic laboratory investigations to preempt cumulative toxicity.
