LDL particle size in familial combined hyperlipidemia: effects of serum lipids, lipoprotein-modifying enzymes, and lipid transfer proteins

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2002
Small, dense LDL particles are typical for FCHL. Intravascular lipid exchange and net transfer among HDL, LDL, and triglyceride-rich lipoproteins as well as lipolysis in the VLDL-IDL-LDL cascade regulate properties of LDL.

Expert Consensus on the Clinical Application of PI3K/AKT/mTOR Inhibitors in the Treatment of Breast Cancer (2025 Edition)

open access: yesCancer Innovation, Volume 4, Issue 3, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Background The phosphoinositide 3‐kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (PKB or AKT)/mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathway (PAM pathway) plays a critical role in breast cancer pathogenesis and progression, and is closely linked with resistance to endocrine therapy in advanced breast cancer.

AZ 242, a novel PPARα/γ agonist with beneficial effects on insulin resistance and carbohydrate and lipid metabolism in ob/ob mice and obese Zucker rats

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2002
Abnormalities in fatty acid (333333333333382) metabolism underlie the development of insulin resistance and alterations in glucose metabolism, features characteristic of the metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes that can result in an increased risk of ...

Effects of Omega‐3 Fatty Acids Intake on Lipid Metabolism and Plaque Volume in Patients With Coronary Heart Disease: A Systematic Review and Dose–Response Meta‐Analysis of Randomized Clinical Trials

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 6, June 2025.
Omega‐3 fatty acids supplementation significantly reduced circulating levels of triglycerides (TG) (standardized mean difference [SMD] = −0.25, 95% confidence interval [CI] = −0.38 to −0.11) and total cholesterol (TC) (SMD = −0.12, 95% CI = −0.23 to −0.02), with no significant impact on the levels of high‐density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL‐C), low ...

Antipeptide antibodies reveal interrelationships of MBP 200 and MBP 235: unique apoB-specific receptors for triglyceride-rich lipoproteins on human monocyte-macrophages

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1999
Two human monocyte-macrophage (HMM) membrane binding proteins, (MBP) 200 and 235, are receptor candidates that bind to the apolipoprotein (apo)B-48 domain in triglyceride-rich lipoproteins for uptake independent of apoE.

Efficacy and safety of JMT103 in patients with bone metastases from solid tumors: A randomized Phase Ib clinical trial

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 156, Issue 11, Page 2178-2187, 1 June 2025.
What's new? Bone metastases are common in a variety of cancer types, causing increased pain and worse outcomes. Suppression of bone turnover, such as with the monoclonal antibody denosumab, results in fewer skeletal complications and improved prognosis. Here, the authors demonstrate the safety and efficacy of a similar antibody, JMT103. Like denosumab,

Glycosylation of Asn-76 in mouse GPIHBP1 is critical for its appearance on the cell surface and the binding of chylomicrons and lipoprotein lipase

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2008
GPIHBP1 is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored protein in the lymphocyte antigen 6 (Ly-6) family that recently was identified as a platform for the lipolytic processing of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins. GPIHBP1 binds both LPL and chylomicrons and is
