Finerenone in diabetic chronic kidney disease—Real‐world insights including patients with HFpEF or HFmrEF

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Finerenone, a highly selective non‐steroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist, was approved for the treatment of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (diabetic kidney disease, DKD). Finerenone reduced the composite endpoint of heart failure events and cardiovascular death in patients with heart ...

Circulating oxylipins predict mortality in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
A targeted LC–MS lipidomics approach identified arterial 15‐keto PGF2a as associated with 5‐year mortality in 90 patients with HFpEF. Abstract Aims Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) poses significant diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic challenges, with high morbidity and mortality rates.

Role of NPPB for recovery post ventricular assist device in paediatric dilated cardiomyopathy: Single‐cell multiomics

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
This study investigated factors associated with left ventricular recovery after LVAD implantation in paediatric dilated cardiomyopathy. Patients were classified into recovery and non‐recovery groups. Single‐nucleus sequencing revealed higher NPPB expression and altered apoptosis‐related pathways in the recovery group.

Assessing cardiovascular benefits of intensive blood pressure lowering in high‐risk undiagnosed HFpEF patients

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is often underdiagnosed. This study evaluates the HFpEF‐ABA score's ability to identify high‐risk, undiagnosed HFpEF subgroups with elevated cardiovascular event rates and assesses the impact of intensive blood pressure control in these populations.

Nuclear imaging and echocardiographic findings in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with and without ATTR‐CM

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims Patients with transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR‐CM) often experience delayed diagnosis, which may detrimentally impact clinical outcomes. This study aimed to assess the frequency of use of planar scintigraphy with and without single‐photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM ...
