Experimental Infection of Hyphantria cunea with Nosema bombycis
The Journal of Parasitology, 1940Although the majority of parasitic protozoa invade in general a specific host animal, often confining themselves to a particular organ or tissue, there are others which parasitize various organs or tissues of several host species. The microsporidian, Nosema bombycis, appears to be one of those which belong to the latter group.

Molecular basis of camphor repellency in Hyphantria cunea
Pesticide Biochemistry and PhysiologyThe plant-derived camphor has been used as a natural insect repellent against various insects for >500 years. However, the repellency mechanism behind camphor remains less understood. In this study, we aimed to identify the camphor receptor in Hyphantria cunea by deorphanizing 7 odorant receptors (ORs).

Comparative analysis of two attacin genes from Hyphantria cunea
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 2008A full-length clone corresponding to attacin was isolated from a cDNA library made from fat body of immunized Hyphantria cunea larvae. This newly isolated attacin B shows characteristics different from those previously reported for attacin A. The two attacin cDNAs encode precursor proteins of 233 and 248 amino acid residues, respectively.

A total of six homologous regions (hycu-hrs1-6) were identified in the genome of Hyphantria cunea nucleopolyhedrovirus (HycuNPV). These hycu-hrs were localized in non-coding regions interspersed throughout the HycuNPV genome and showed structural homology to several other baculovirus hrs. Sequence analyses indicated that hycu-hrs were composed of 65-69-

Local expression and distribution of a storage protein in the ovary of Hyphantria cunea
Archives of Insect Biochemistry and Physiology, 2001AbstractStorage protein‐1 (HcSP‐1) is a major storage protein found in the hemolymph and fat body ofHyphantria cunea. HcSP‐1 has a high methionine (6.0%) and low aromatic amino acid content (8.5%) (Cheon et al., 1998). In this study, the accumulation and expression of HcSP‐1 in ovary was investigated using biochemical and immunocytochemical methods ...

Morphology and histological structure of Hyphantria cunea Dr. gonads are studied. The processes of spermatogenesis are investigated at all the postembryonic stages of de- velopment. The process of sex cells formation and gonads growth are established to acce- lerate from the caterpillars of the IV age. Spermatogenesis in Hyphantria curea Dr.

Histopathology of a granulosis in the larva of the fall webworm, Hyphantria cunea
Journal of Invertebrate Pathology, 1970Abstract Light-autoradiography, light microscope, and electron microscope observations of the larval fat body of the fall webworm, Hyphantria cunea , infected with a granulosis virus revealed that a mitotic cell proliferation and nuclear hypertrophy of the fat-body cells occurred at an early stage of infection, and subsequently, a stained network ...
