The prophylactic treatment of migraine is difficult to assess, whether by chemotherapy or auto-hypnosis. This is due to the intermittency of the disease and the subjective nature of the disabling symptoms. A method for investigating the value of autohypnosis in migraine by means of a controlled comparison with prochlorperazine is described.
