Hypoglobus Due to Tumours in the Superior Orbital Region
Klinische Monatsblätter für Augenheilkunde, 2008Tumours in the superior orbital region can cause hypoglobus. We compare the pre- and postoperative globe position in two patients with different tumour types.A 29-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman presented with pronounced hypoglobus. In both patients time-scale and importance of the lesion were comparable. Imaging suggested a pleomorphic adenoma in

Absent upper eyelid skin crease: a sign of hypoglobus
Clinical & Experimental Ophthalmology, 2005AbstractThe association of an absent upper eyelid skin crease on downgaze with hypoglobus has not been described in the literature before. Herein a case of silent sinus syndrome that demonstrates this sign is described. The possible mechanism of such a sign is discussed.

Giant Epidermoid Cyst as an Unusual Presentation of Hypoglobus and Ptosis
Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, 2006A 24-year-old man presented with a large right frontal epidural epidermoid cyst that resulted in right hypoglobus and right upper eyelid ptosis. CT and MRI revealed a bone-destroying mass involving the right frontal bone and eroding through the right orbital roof. Complete surgical removal was performed through a frontal craniotomy.

To report the results of post-traumatic enophthalmos/hypophthalmos correction with high-density porous polyethylene wedge implants in seeing eyes. This is an interventional case series of 25 patients (25 eyes) with post-traumatic enophthalmos and hypophthalmos, who underwent orbital reconstruction to correct the enophthalmos and hypophthalmos using ...

We report the first case of Sjögren's syndrome causing gross lacrimal gland swelling and secondary hypoglobus and uncharacteristically absent sicca syndrome. Histopathological diagnosis of the excision biopsy of the orbital lobe of the gland confirmed a mixed T and B cell infiltrate of the gland with no lymphomatous transformation.

Heterotopic ossification (HO) of facial sinuses is very rare. In this article, we present an extensive HO case covering the right frontal sinus, superior ethmoidal cells, and upper orbital rim and roof. This mass was leading to a hypoglobus and upward-gaze deficit due to mass effect.

The silent sinus syndrome: maxillary sinus atelectasis with enophthalmos and hypoglobus
Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, 2004The silent sinus syndrome is a rare clinical entity of spontaneous enophthalmos and hypoglobus caused by an alteration of the normal orbital architecture and function from maxillary sinus collapse in the setting of chronic sinusitis. The maxillary sinus collapse appears to result from the development of negative sinus pressure from an acquired ...
