Hypoplasia of the nasal bones

The Journal of Laryngology & Otology, 1977
A case of nasal bone hypoplasia is presented. It resulted in mild respiratory obstruction due to collapse of overlying soft tissue on inspiration. Hypoplasia of the Lung

The British Journal of Radiology, 1957
A case of hypoplasia of the left lung is described in a healthy girl of 14. Premorbid ophthalmoscopic and histopathologic findings were correlated in a case of bilateral optic nerve hypoplasia in a 9-month-old infant with bilateral hydranencephaly. The double-ring sign was due to an extension of retina and retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) over the outer portion of the lamina cribrosa.

Three unilateral cases of patients with small optic disks, reduced visual acuity, and convergent squint on the affected eye are presented. The anomaly is probably caused by failure of development of the ganglion cell layer of the retina causing a small optic nerve head with normal central ...

Management of Thumb Hypoplasia

Hand Clinics, 1990
This chapter emphasizes the dilemma of salvage and reconstruction of the congenitally aplastic or hypoplastic thumb without normal cerebrocortical representation for prehensile grasp and pinch. The philosophy of reconstruction of the congenitally anomalous thumb is clearly divergent from thumb reconstruction following trauma.
