Cardiology in the Young, 1999Hypoplastic left heart syndrome is one of the most therapeutically challenging congenital cardiac defects. It accounts for as many as 1.5% of all congenital heart defects, but is responsible for up to one quarter of deaths in neonates with heart disease.1The management of hypoplastic left heart syndrome is controversial.

Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, 1988Sir .—Natowicz and Kelley 1 called attention to the hypoplastic left-heart syndrome as the most severe manifestation of obstruction of the left side of the heart in Turner syndrome. They reported three new cases and cited three previous reports, to which I would like to add four additional cases from the literature.
